NEWS
The Jim Ross Appreciation Night continued after RAW went off the air last Monday in Oklahoma City, OK. "Jim Ross is an American icon and my friend," said Vince McMahon as he stood in the middle of the ring praising the WWE Hall of Famer. Triple H - rocking his new hair-do - led the celebrations, introducing a video from Oklahoma Sooners football coach Bob Stoops and also another video from Lawler's long-time broadcast partner Jerry "The King" Lawler. Bill Watts and Danny Hodge also appeared live, congratulating Ross and then JR was presented with an award from the WWE. "Felt as big as 2007 #WWE HOF. A moment I'll never forget. So grateful 2 you all," Ross tweeted after the show was over. WWE.com has exclusive videos of all these that you can see by clicking here.
Stone Cold Steve Austin looks like he is going to reignite the Twitter "war" with CM Punk after leaving some comments following last Monday's RAW. During the show, Punk interrupted the Jim Ross Appreciation Night segment, and made fun of Ross and tried to force him to say that he's the best in the world while also knocking Ross for his friendship with Stone Cold. Austin is currently in Mexico filming the second season of CMT's "Redneck Island" and he posted a message on Twitter following the show saying, "I was in a bar in Mexico watching the football game. Word on the street was some low end piece of trash was talking smack on #WWE RAW. #SCSA." The "low end piece of trash" is obviously a remark towards the WWE Champion CM Punk who did talk smack about the Hall of Famer during the show. The two had some sort of a battle earlier this year on the social network website and Punk often said that he'd love to wrestle Steve Austin.
Vince McMahon was reportedly not happy with last Monday's RAW from Oklahoma City. McMahon is apparently not pleased with the creative direction of the show, and compounding his frustration were timing issues on last night?s episodes.
The live telecast of "Monday Night RAW" from Oklahoma City did a 2.54 cable rating with 3.5 million viewers, the lowest rating since the 4th of July special in 2011. Vince McMahon was already upset with the direction of Raw, and this rating will certainly not help. It is worth pointing out that WWE Superstar John Cena was notably absent from Monday's broadcast, which could have contributed to the poor viewership, along with Monday Night Football's presentation of the Chicago Bears against the Dallas Cowboys.
For the second week in a row, none of the three hours from RAW broke the 4 million viewer mark and this week it was even worse than last week. For the October 1st broadcast, which emanated from Oklahoma City, RAW did a 2.5 rating with an average viewership of 3,502,000 over the three hours. Hour one did 3,436,000 viewers, hour two did 3,598,000 and hour three did 3,472,000. That is the lowest RAW number for a non-holiday in 15 years.
Attendance for RAW in Oklahoma City on October 1st was reportedly 7,000.
Among the segments edited from last week's RAW for Hulu Plus, were the Big Show/Sheamus debate, Ryback vs. Tensai, Eve Torres vs. Beth Phoenix, Santino Marella vs. Heath Slater, Antonio Cesaro vs. Brodus Clay and parts of the Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs. Primo & Epico match.
WWE and ION Television Friday issued a press release announcing the success of the first "WWE Main Event" show on the network, which was taped in Tulsa, OK. After ratings were released, "Main Event" garnered the highest male audience in the last year with the most Men 18-49 (422,000), Men 25-54 (444,000), and Men 2+ (876,000) on ION. The show was the #4 program in the time period among Men 18-34, #4 among Men 18-49, and #5 among Men 25-54. The premiere delivered 518,000 Women 2+, finishing ahead of most female cable networks. "The viewers have spoken," noted Brandon Burgess, CEO, ION Media Networks. "Fans of the WWE are passionate and seem to have a knack for finding their favorite Superstars wherever they live. Needless to say, we are particularly pleased that WWE has found a new home on ION Television, and we congratulate our new partner in the success of the premiere." Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman and CEO, said, "Our partnership with ION Television is off to a strong start. We expect our fans will make 'WWE Main Event' the number one show on the network as they have done for WWE programs with all of our other TV partners."
The idea of doing CM Punk vs. Mick Foley at WWE?s TLC pay-per-view has been brought up internally within WWE Creative.
There is a new video on You Tube with Mick Foley reading passages from his new children's book A Most MIZerable Christmas. He also explains the story is set in a classroom, the bully is The Miz, and the new kid in the class is C. M. Punk. Other WWE Superstars are also characters in the book You can see the video by clicking here.
Paul Bearer posted on Twitter "I?m finally allowed to confirm that I will be managing UT & Kane in The Attitude Era of The WWE13 videogame. More news on that later."
Jerry Lawler was originally supposed to be a part of Bad Boys of Wrestling Federation tour of Chile December 6th through 9th but for obvious reasons, he will not be able to join the tour.
Memphis author and historian Mark James spoke to Jerry Lawler for a few minutes at a show Saturday night and he's doing great. He said he was already the same old King.
It appears that Jim Cornette is no longer Head Of Creative at Ring Of Honor. He has been replaced by Hunter Johnson, better known to wrestling fans as Delirious.
Colt Toombs, son of Roddy Piper, has been training for pro wrestling in Portland, OR. He previously trained in MMA for several years and was undefeated at 145 lbs. as an amateur, but lost his first pro fight two years ago and hasn?t competed since. He was looking at getting into acting but that didn?t come to fruition. The odds are certainly against him making it due to his small size. His first pro match will take place in Chile in December on a tour that includes his father, Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner, Sean Waltman, Rhino, Billy Gunn, Angelina Love, and Velvet Sky.
Over the weekend,The Ultimate Warrior was booked in Portland, ME for Big Time Wrestling. He was scheduled for a Meet & Greet with fans for the promotion. Warrior showed up over 3 hours late with no explanation, and seemed not happy to be there at all. Many fans demanded refunds, and were obliged after too much time had past and doubted his arrival.

Oklafan congratulates Quarky Storm, whose son Leo was born on October 4th.
Oklafan extends its condolences to the family and friends of Bobby Jaggers, who passed away on September 30, 2012 of renal failure at the age of 64. Jaggers formed a tag team called the Kansas Jayhawks, first with Dutch Mantell in the NWA and later with Dan Kroffat (Phil LaFon) in Puerto Rico. His death was reportedly due to the effects of Agent Orange that he first picked up in the early 1970's while serving in Vietnam. Jaggers passed away in Baton Rouge, LA where he was on site working for FEMA.
Dutch Mantell posted on Facebook his thoughts about his former tag team partner "What bad news to wake up to today?my old tag team partner, Bobby Jaggers passed away yesterday of an apparent heart attack. Great guy, entertaining MF?er. Making trips with Bobby was actually some of my best memories of the business. This photo was shot in the late 80's at the old WTBS Studios at Superstation 17 in downtown Atlanta whenn wrestling used to come on the air at 6:05 EST on Sat. afternoon. Last saw Bobby a couple years ago at a fan convention in NJ. RIP Robert Jeaudoin."
Chavo Guerrero, Sr. posted on Facebook "IF U KNEW BOBBY JAGGERS, U CAN RELATE; HE WAS ALWAYS IN CHARACTER SO MUCH THAT U WERE FOOLED BY HIS MARKING OUT AND IGNORANCE, HE WAS PRO WRESTLING 24/7 AND KNEW MUCH ABOUT THE CHARACTERS THAT COMPOSE OUR BUSINESS. WILL MISS U BOBBY TILL I SEE U YONDER, CONDOLENCES TO HIS FAMILY."
