WWE News: Jim Ross Featured on Annual Sports Illustrated Top 100 List
Posted: Sep 22nd 2012 By: mikeiles
That's right folks, Good Ol' J. R. got a special nod from Sports Illustrated as he was listed as number 73 for the second annual "Twitter 100".
For those of you that are unaware of this distinction here is an overview from SI.com:
For our second annual Twitter 100, we once again polled Sports llustrated staffers who are hard-core Twitter users (they are among the 140 million active on the service) and asked them which feeds they considered essential to their daily routine for finding news, information and entertainment from the sports world.
We received hundreds of worthy suggestions but eventually whittled down the list to our Top 100, presented in alphabetical order. The list intentionally does not include any members of SI.
Ross was listed alongside such sports powerhouses as: Mark Cuban, Jose Canseco, and Andre Iguodala just to name a few. Overall, this list truly means nothing, but it did give Ross some mainstream press and notoriety.
One thing is certain, as time goes by and information technology increases, there will most certainly be other WWE stars featured on these types of lists.
You may remember a few months back AJ was ranked as the "most influential female athlete" on the web, so anything is possible.
