Jerry Lawler Collapses At Ringside During RAW

Jerry Lawler Collapses At Ringside During RAW

Posted: Sep 10th 2012 By: CMBurnham

There seems to be a situation unfolding in Montreal during tonight's Monday Night Raw that involves Hall of Famer Jerry "the King" Lawler. There was a moment on commentary where both announcers went silent and Cole removed his headset. He then continued calling the match on his own, as the live crowd began chanting "Jerry, Jerry!" but almost immediately fell silent.

Arda Ocal is reporting that Lawler appears to have been convulsing, and then fell unconscious. He was then taken to the back by legitimate medical staff.

At this point it does not appear that this is a part of a storyline injury, and we hope all is well with the King. More on this story as it develops.

Michael Cole confirmed the recent Wrestlezone report that Jerry Lawler did indeed collapse during tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw.

Cole confirmed that this was "not a part of tonight's entertainment", and that the medics are currently performing CPR in the back. We will udpate this story as more information becomes available.

WWE.com has updated its breaking news story on Jerry Lawler by issuing the following statement:

Jerry ?The King? Lawler suffered a heart attack while commentating during last night?s broadcast of Monday Night Raw in Montreal. We are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery and returns to WWE in the near future. Our thoughts are with Jerry and his family.
