WWE News: Ric Flair's Post-TNA Plans and WWE Future
Posted: Jul 13th 2012 By: mikeiles
Ric Flair is probably the biggest living legend in wrestling today.
At 63, he has seen and done it all in wrestling and ultimately, has nothing to prove. Yet, year after year he manages to not only stick around but have companies vie for his services.
Now, Wrestlezone.com has reported that he will be appearing and hosting the annual Gathering of the Juggalo's concert and wrestling festival.
The article states:
As previously reported, Ric Flair's first post-TNA appearance will be for the ICP's Gathering of the Juggalos on August 12th. Flair will be hosting the event on the main stage but will not be wrestling on the show.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that almost everyone in WWE expects Flair to return to the company once the lawsuit between TNA and WWE dies down, and the company can find a role for him.
To me, this appearance is solely to kill time until the lawsuit between the WWE and TNA dies down. Outside of a payday, I personally don't understand why Flair would take this booking. As the Gathering of Juggalo's is far from your average wrestling event.
Don't get me wrong, the Insane Clown Posse has found their niche and has a proven, successful track record. However, many talented stars have gotten injured due to the sometimes unruly crowd. So, one has to wonder how Ric Flair will do at this event.
In the end, it appears that Flair will not be on WWE TV any time soon. So you will have to get your fill on YouTube or buy tickets to this year's festival which is only three weeks away.
