Sting: He?s Mag-ic

LEGENDARY wrestler Sting has named the two men he?d still like to go one-on-one with ? The Undertaker and British star Magnus.
The Icon almost signed with the WWE last year for a dream WrestleMania bout with Taker, before deciding to stay in his current home of TNA.
He is one of the only headline stars in the modern history of wrestling never to work for Vince McMahon, deciding instead to spend his career with the NWA, WCW and now TNA.
Sting said: ?I was close to signing with the WWE. I?d have faced Undertaker at WrestleMania. It wasn?t to be and we couldn?t come to an agreement. He was the only person I?d want to wrestle there.
?I?d like to fight Undertaker, but here in TNA I think I could go well with some of the younger guys too. Especially a guy like Magnus.?
Now aged 53, talk often turns to Sting?s retirement. In fact, his appearances on this January?s TNA UK Tour were billed as his last time ?wrestling? in this country.
Talking candidly, he revealed: ?You know every year I think this is it and I?m stepping away. Then I get into it and I?m still here.
?This year, especially, I have felt more motivated than ever. I?m having fun out there.
?I think when I do retire from wrestling I would like to work behind the scenes and maybe even do something in creative. I?m really beginning to see things form that side of the camera more.?
When he does step down, Sting has a clear opinion of who should become standard bearers for TNA.
He added: ?When I look at the guys and think of who has the ability to step up and be the future stars of TNA I look to people like Magnus, Austin Aries, James Storm and of course the World Champion Bobby Roode.?
?I face Bobby at Slammiversary. I?ve got a new trainer and we are working on a new training regime. That and a new diet will see me back in the shape I was 15 years ago. It?s taking time, but I?m going to be ready for the match.
?Roode is the proof that we are right with our direction. People may say we are using veterans too much, but the ratings show the fans want the mix and our match at Slammiversary proves that.?
