WWE: Could Ric Flair Help Dolph Ziggler Finally Achieve Main Event Success?

WWE: Could Ric Flair Help Dolph Ziggler Finally Achieve Main Event Success?

Posted: Jun 11th 2012 By: mikeiles

Over the course of the last year, Dolph Ziggler has taken his performances to an all new level. Once considered a talented mid-card performer, Ziggler has become a Superstar deserving of a main event run but unable to break through the proverbial glass ceiling.

There are those that can say what they will?Paul Heyman on his Twitter account included?but anyone claiming Ziggler has not stood out on multiple occasions and made fans take notice of his performances are either blind or have not actually watched WWE programming in nearly a year.

Dolph Ziggler singlehandedly makes any opponent he wrestles look that much better because of his ability and willingness to bump around the ring in the same fashion as the late, great Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig. Add to that his look and his underrated verbal skills, and there is no reason that Dolph cannot excel as a top performer in the business.

Perhaps his association with Jack Swagger and Vickie Guerrero was holding him back. As great as Vickie was during her run with Edge at the top of SmackDown in 2008 and 2009, she has become a tremendous mid-card act as the voice of Swagger and Ziggler. She is an instant heat magnet and could be used to get any number of younger acts over.

For Dolph Ziggler to succeed at the next level, he needs a manager fans immediately associate with the main event. He needs a manager that has a track record of working with young Superstars and elevating them to the top of the card.

Dolph Ziggler needs someone like Ric Flair.

With rumors and reports that Flair is on his way out of TNA, and back to WWE, now could be the opportune time for Vince McMahon to take a wildly talented performer like Ziggler and turn him into a main event mainstay.

With the suspensions of Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho, as well as the recent injury of Alberto Del Rio, there is a very recognizable lack of star power on the roster.

Giving Ziggler that push?potentially pairing him with someone like Flair?could help Vince McMahon fill a void. Even after the suspended and injured stars return, they will have one more star to work with. It will allow the company to open up main event possibilities without relying on the same performers month in and month out.

A Dolph Ziggler-Ric Flair relationship would make Ziggler a main event attraction merely by association and would give him the opportunity to learn to fill that role by learning from one of the greatest performers in the history of the industry.
