Hacksaw Jim Duggan Says He Was Sandbagged by Steve Austin in His WCW Debut

You hear things in the world of wrestling where the wrestlers don't do the right thing in terms of putting a guy over. It can be for a variety of reasons. They don't like the other talent, want to protect there spot. The list goes on and on.
You have heard guys from Hulk Hogan to Bret Hart refusing to put other talent over for there own personal reasons. But, we have never heard of a case with Steve Austin being that way in putting talent over. Until now.
I recently talked to WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan about his book: "Hacksaw, The Jim Duggan Story". Here's what Duggan said about Austin when they faced each other when Duggan made his WCW debut at Fall Brawl in 1994, and why he felt he was sandbagged by Austin in the match.
"Yea, I think that was when the business started changing," said Duggan. "Contracts started getting involved. Guys started worrying about there own personal image and how they would move on from 1 company to another. That was the change from the old days when you would pass the torch if you were leaving. You did the job for the guy. The guy did the job for you. That was the 1st time I saw that where Austin was worried about taking care of himself and went down with the bogus injury shortly into the match. "I had words with him right after it happened and the little bit right then. Of course he went on to have an outstanding and unbelievable career. Obviously the guy was very talented, not my favorite person to say the least."
