Chris Kuhn debuted a new show on KHCC radio yesterday called "Shootout". On the first show Kuhn spoke with John E. Stone and Johnny Z about the impending stoppage of all "combative sports" by the Oklahoma Boxing Commission. The "combative sports" listed in the stoppage includes MMA, boxing, and wrestling. KOKH Fox 25 in Oklahoma City had a report last week stating the Oklahoma Athletic Commission has put all "combative sports" on hold effective April 1st. The hold is due to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) threatening to sue the commission over a 4% pay-per-view tax. In the video, Joe Miller, chairman of the Oklahoma Athletic Commission, is interviewed about the importance of the tak being assessed. The tax is assessed when a pay-per-view is held in another state but viewed on pay-per-view in the state of Oklahoma. The "combative sports" listed included MMA, boxing, and wrestling. Michael Barry was interviewed after his night at Metro Pro Wrestling on March 3rd. He confused his first opponent Davey Vega with the late Davey Jones of The Monkees, saying he meant to send flowers when Jones had passed and that "Daydream Believer" was always one of his favorite songs. He also said his second opponent of the night, former WWE World Tag Team Champion Trevor Murdock, can hopefully one day reach the heights in his career that Barry himself has achieved. Brian Nguyen, the referee who officiated Eve?s match against Alicia Fox last Monday night on Monday night Raw, is the newest referee in World Wrestling Entertainment. He has officiated in Florida Championship Wrestling for the past two years as ?Ryan Tran.? He formerly wrestled for World League Wrestling as Bao Nguyen and also wrestled for MWA in Spavinaw on November 6, 2009.

According to PWInsider.com, Chase Stevens was backstage at "WWE Monday Night RAW" in Cleveland, OH last night. Stevens is a former TNA wrestler and held the NWA World Tag Team Titles with Andy Douglas as The Naturals.

Adam West, who played Batman in the 1960's, posted a photo of himself with the cast of WWE Legends House on his Facebook, so he will be appearing in one of the episodes. This is the second time West has been involved in pro wrestling. He did an angle with Jerry Lawler on Memphis TV about 30 years ago.

In the six vs. six match at WrestleMania, lots of names have been discussed for the spots. The heel side was pretty much confirmed as Alberto Del Rio, Christian, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, and David Otunga. A number of names have been discussed for the face side including Evan Bourne, Rey Mysterio, and Sin Cara with the latter two dependent upon injuries. Three names are said to be a lock: Santino Marella, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth, but anything is subject to change at the last minute. Other names under consideration include The Great Khali, Brodus Clay, and Ezekiel Jackson.

"Shawn Michaels' MacMillan River Adventures" second season starts in July on the Outdoor Channel. Among the guests on the second season will be Steve Austin, Jim Ross, and Ted Nugent.

It is expected that it won't be decided until the week of if Jim Ross will have any role at WrestleMania XXVIII according to F4WOnline.com. The report states that it is believed The Undertaker requested Ross call his match again this year, but as always, the decision will come down to Vince McMahon himself.

The new Filmfax magazine has Mil Mascaras on the cover and talked about his history in Mexican cinema. The article is 8-10 pages with photos of him and a shot with him and El Hijo del Santo.

WWE.com has confirmed that Paul Bearer will be at this year's WrestleMania XXVIII Axxess. Similiar to last year, Paul Bearer will be appearing in The Undertaker's Graveyard on his original "Funeral Parlor" set, signing autographs, taking photographs, and visiting with the WWE fans. Bearer was also in the audience at last year's Atlanta WWE Hall of Fame presentation, and WrestleMania as well. He is expected to do the same in Miami. However, Bearer insists that fans do not read anything into his presence, and that he is not appearing in the actual WrestleMania event in any fashion, shape, or form.

As part of a Photo Caption Contest he is having on his Facebook page Facebook.com/TDiBiaseJr, Ted DiBiase, Jr. posted a very funny picture of himself and his father, "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. The amusing photo was taken a few days ago and clearly shows off a much skinnier Ted Sr. who has lost upwards of 40 lbs since late last year. For info on the photo caption contest, click here.

A company called UNA Mobile Transformations has filed a lawsuit against TNA in U. S. District Court in Delaware claiming that they had patented a style of advertising that TNA has violated in a video of Sting from the European tour.

On March 3rd, Ric Flair was in the radio booth of the Los Angeles Lakers helping call the second quarter.

This probably comes as no surprise to anyone, but The Ultimate Warrior was quick to comment on the alleged Hulk Hogan sex tape which will probably find its way online very soon. Speaking on Twitter, Warrior said on Twitter "HH sex tape? Don?t need more boring proof Terry is impotent with tiny, shriveled-up balls. And finding out he?s lesbian is 2 much 4 even me." The two were in a Twitter war last year following the death of Randy Savage which resulted in Warrior taping a long video blasting Hogan over his lies.

Apparently Hulk Hogan wasn?t the only target of The Ultimate Warrior on Twitter this week. Zack Ryder apparently ended up on his radar too for showing a custom action figure which looks like it has the old Warrior face paint underneath the glasses. ?Having fun with MY UW marks is one thing, violating my TM rights is another. Don?t think so..someone needs to rethink,? Warrior wrote without mentioning Ryder by name.

There were reports that Republican Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich used Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song last week to open a speech. The song was originally used in WWF by The U. S. Express (Barry Windham & Mike Rotundo).

Saturday night in Elgin, IL, Chavo Guerrero Sr. & American Gigolo headlined in a tag team match against Ray Fuego & Jorge Paez. For you boxing fans, this is the same Jorge Paez who was a big name boxer in the 1980's and 1990's, World Featherweight Champion, and once seconded Rey Mysterio on a WWE pay-per-view. The match started normally enough and Guerrero was getting heat from ringside fans. Something happened and Guerrero shoved a fan, who was the brother of Ray Fuego. The two started arguing and Chavo shot for a takedown which was stuffed, and they were on the ground. Supposedly in the struggle there was a legit punch thrown by Chavo, everyone came out and the match ended. Paez never tagged in as the match was over so quickly, and then posed for photos with confused fans. Paez was wearing a suit, which would appear to be an indication he never expected to tag in. Ray Fuego got dressed and left the building.

Lanny Poffo and Devon Nicholson have announced they are starting a new wrestling promotion called Hannibal Pro Wrestling. Poffo, who is 57, said he would be wrestling on the shows. Nicholson said he would not wrestle for the promotion. That is probably due to the fact he has Hepatitus C that he alleges he contracted by Abdullah the Butcher in a match in which Abdullah used a blade on himself, then on Nicholson.

Phil Fulmer and Doug Matthews, both former coaches at the University of Tennessee and both now media personalities, spoke last Saturday at the funeral of Doug Furnas, who played two seasons for the Volunteers before becoming a pro wrestling star in the 1990's.

Doug Furnas died from Heart Disease. Furnas? body was badly decomposed, as the coroner couldn?t even estimate how long he had been deceased.

Doug Furnas was a supporter of the Sports Legacy Institute, and had signed to donate his brain after death, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Sadly, decomposition had set in to the point that examination of any of his organs would not be possible.
On a side note, []Wrestling Observer Newsletter listed Furnas at age 52 at the time of his death, not 50 as reported by various sources.

Oklafan sends its condolences to the friends and family of long time wrestling referee Dick Woehrle, who passed away on Monday at the age of 81. Woehrle was one of the most recognizable referees in history. He was licensed in such states as Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and refereed many top matches for the World Wrestling Federation, the National Wrestling Alliance, and other top promotions.
