Bully Tactics Don't Dissuade ComPro Newcomer
Posted: Mar 11th 2012 By: CMBurnham
It would be completely understandable if Dakota Storm just decided to pick another profession. Since leaving SRPW and entering ComPro during the 2012 Oklahoma Stampede, Storm has had to endure the constant threat of Russ Rogers and the rest of the Bullies. Now, he has a new issue to deal with and he doesn't even understand why.
Storm first faced off against Rogers on January 28. Although Rogers is an 11-year veteran, he still relied on 3-on-1 tactics to handle the young upstart, forcing him to submit to a Texas Cloverleaf.
Two weeks later, Storm had recruited some assistance in the form of the KC Wolves. They would face all 3 Bullies in the semi-main event, although that wasn't the way it started. It appeared that it was just going to be Kyle taking on 3 of the other side, but when that didn't turn out the way the Bullies wanted, Rogers and Lamont quickly entered the fray. To make matters worse, the Bullies lived up to their name when it came to their interaction with referee Chance Snodgrass. Again, despite a valiant effort, Storm found himself on the losing end of the issue and after the match was over, he received a triple Power Bomb for his efforts.
At this point, most rookies would have chosen to accept that they weren't going to get anywhere and they should pick another opponent in hopes of prolonging their career. But Storm had determination and had made some connections in his brief time at ComPro. So with that in mind, he arrived last Saturday to confront Rogers and Lamont in a tag team match. His partner: Mitch Baxter! Baxter, who recently made his return to pro wrestling, was up for the challenge and quickly took the fight to the Bullies, busting Rogers' lip open with a forearm early in the match. But even with the motivation of almost having been put in the hospital by Rogers after the previous show, Storm & Baxter couldn't capitalise. Roger delivered a devestating inverted Atomic Drop to Storm, then hoisted him up for the Kool-Aid Krunch, once again putting Storm down for a 3-count. Then, the Bullies focused on Baxter with double-team tactics until Storm made the save for his fallen partner.
But it seems another wrinkle has come up in Storm's issue with Rogers. After making the save with Baxter, Storm went to shake Baxter's hand. But Baxter was visably upset and refused to shake it, instead exiting the ring and walking to the back alone. At this point, the last thing Storm needs is to make more enemies. The Wolves weren't enough to help and whiel Baxter brought him closer to a victory, he still didn't get him there. There's no way Storm can fight all 3 on his own. He desperately needs someone who can match up to the others and that person needs to reveal themselves quickly.
