WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper Runs the Show on Fox's "Breaking In"
Posted: Mar 9th 2012 By: mikeiles
WWE has had its fair share of superstars and legends showing up on television over the last month.
Mick Foley played a ridiculous version of his character Mankind on Tina Fey's 30 Rock recently, and the man who controls Mr. Socko is not alone.
The Miz is set to guest star in an episode of USA's Psych this month and two former WWE legends have appeared in animated form recently.
Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair both made cameos on Seth McFarlane comedies that have both men not only playing themselves, but wrestling as well.
Now, another WWE legend has popped up, and this cameo was in no way advertised ahead of time.
Fox's comedy Breaking In stars Christian Slater, Bret Harrison from Reaper and The Loop and Odette Annable, who is best known from her recent stint on House.
The show was almost cancelled last year and Fox decided to renew it after many on-line campaigns sprung up overnight to save the geek-friendly comedy.
During Tuesday's season premiere, I watched in hopes that the show was still the same zany comedy I remember from last year.
Not only was it just as good, but Megan Mullally added to the comedy as the boss of the security company Slater's character was forced to sell.
When the pitch was being made to the board of directors for the new parent company a very familiar face appeared at the head of the table.
The CEO of the perspective buyer was played by none other than "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Piper played the part of the CEO for all of thirty seconds, but what a half-minute it was.
Mullally used Piper's classic line from They Live, "I am here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum."
Piper replied, "I like that. I may just use it someday."
I have to admit that I marked out for a second, once I realized what I had seen and I highly recommend the show to anyone who is not familiar with it.
I am sure Piper was a one-off guest star, but there is always the chance he could show up every few episodes if the writers find a part for him.
