News:

Brent Albright will be on the "Monday Night Mayhem" internet radio show live beginning at 8:00 Central Time. You can listen to the show at www.MondayNightMayhem.com

Mick Foley recently appeared as part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's 10th Annual Muscle Team Gala & Benefit Auction at the Chelsea Pier in New York, NY on January 9th along with Olympic Gold Medalists Dorothy Hamil and Nadia Comaneci.

WWE is currently in the early stages of trying to put together a new Hart Foundation. The current idea would see it comprised of Harry Smith (son of Davey Boy Smith), Nattie Neidhart (daughter of Jim Neidhart), Teddy Hart (son of Georgia Hart, sister of Bret) and T. J. Wilson (trained by the Hart Family and currently dating Nattie Neidhart). Harry has been signed for a while now and Nattie was signed to a developmental deal just recently. She will be reporting to Deep South soon. Teddy Hart's contract with WSX is up in February however there is a massive question mark over him do to his past history and reputation. They are trying to sign T. J. Wilson but they are having problems with his work visa which they are currently trying to work out. With Survivor Series coming up this year from Montreal (10 years after the Screw Job), they would like to have them on TV as established characters by then so they can have a prominent role in the show.

Brad Armstrong recently began his stint as an announcer on "ECW on SciFi" on January 9th.

ESPN.com columnist Bill Simmons was asked a question about UFC and noted he as invited to a UFC party and mentioned that as an indication UFC has made it an accepted sport. Interestingly, his answer was then edited off the chat log. Someone else asked him if he's disturbed that Ric Flair is still wrestling. He said, "It's horrifying. I can't handle it. Although it's more amazing that he's even alive right now--being a wrestler in your late 50s is like being a 15-year-old Great Dane, you just don't see them."

Speaking of Flair, he appeared on FSN's The Sports List on January 12th talking about Steve Largent, the former Seattle Seahawks receiver turned politician, saying he was glad he was a Republican.

WWE's upcoming DVD entitled "Wrestling's Most Famous Families" will mostly focus on the Harts, the Guerreros, and the Funks.

Hulk Hogan was recently on the Bubba The Love Sponge show and was a bit intoxicated. While he was on the air, he received a call from Vince McMahon's personal secretary Ann Russo, who wanted to go over the list of possible names for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. What she didn't know was Hogan had her on speaker phone and all the names went out on the air. When Hogan eventually told her she was on the air, she sounded rather shocked and said she would get in trouble. The names that were mentioned were The Von Erichs, The Ultimate Warrior, The Original Sheik, Ric Flair, Mr. Fuji, Nick Bockwinkel, Muhammad Ali, Mr. T, Mike Tyson, Howard Finkel, Jim Ross, Ken Patera, King Curtis, Ted DiBiase, Jake Roberts, The Honky Tonk Man, Randy Savage, Dusty Rhodes, Dick Ebersol, The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika), Big Bossman, Bob Backlund, Rick Rude, The Bushwackers (Luke & Butch), Rocky Johnson, and The Brooklyn Brawler.

Roddy Piper is said have an 85% chance of surviving cancer.

Mike DiBiase, the son of Ted DiBiase, is currently dating Bret Hart's daughter Jade.

TNA and Toy Biz, the company that manufacturers their action figures, announced their 2007 lineup. A "Bashin Brawlers Series 2" set of Jeff Jarrett and A. J. Styles will be released 1st quarter of 2007. "Twin Pack Series 4" will be released in the 2nd quarter and will include A. J. Styles & Christopher Daniels. A. J. Styles and Sting will be featured in seperate figure & DVD combos in the 3rd quarter. Die Cast Cars Series 1 will be released in the 3rd quarter and will include A. J. Styles, Jeff Jarrett, and Sting.

TNA will release "The Best of the Tag Teams" on March 13th and will feature The Latin American Xchange (Homicide & Hernandez, w/ Konnan), America's Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Strom), Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon), The Naturals (Andy Douglas & Chase Stevens), The Voodoo Kin Mafia (B. G. James & Kip James), and A. J. Styles & Christopher Daniels. TNA will also release "The Best of A. J. Styles Volume 2" on April 3rd.

Bill Goldberg will have a guest role on "Law & Order SUV" airing on February 6th on NBC.

Speaking of Goldberg, he was quoted in the February edition of "Stuff" magazine for an article about songs celebrities lost their virginity to. He said "I don't think there was a song, but it would be pretty funny if it were 'Feels Like the First Time'. It was more like 'I Touch Myself.'"

On the January 8th episode of "House", the title character was in rehab for a Vicodin addiction. They said the next step he has to take is belief in a higher power. He said he's not sure if it's God, but that Andre the Giant was pretty powerful. They did a reference to The Rock earlier this season, so one of the writers is likely a wrestling fan.

NWA Universal announced last week that their February show has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.

All American Wrestling Fanfare, scheduled for April 13th, 14th & 15th has been cancelled. Promoter Marvin Ward had a falling out with Dennis Condrey, who was helping to put the event together and booked a lot of the talent. When Condrey was no longer involved, Jim Cornette pulled out. Since he was one of the main guests and was going to be honored at the show, that was the final straw and unfortunately, the plug was pulled. There are no plans to put the event on at a later date.
