Most Popular? Not Any More!! Prophet joins Devastation, Inc.

They titled the show "Revenge", but little did AACW commissioner Damien Strange suspect that there was someone who felt he deserved more than just a little payback. AACW Television Champion Prophet had a bone to pick with the returning leader of the House of Strange and that was just the beginning of the (no pun intended) strangest series if events to take place at the Underground Arena.
Prophet came to the ring, accompanied by Damien Strange, to defend his TV Title against Corporate America representative Tommy Smash, accompanied by Michael James. The 2 big men slugged it out in the ring for quite a while, until James threw a chair into the ring, which Prophet used to hit Smash and score the win. At this point, the crowd cheered as they had been doing for the past 8 months for Prophet, but those cheers turned to stunned silence when Prophet attacked Damien Strange without any provocation. After beating Strange into the corner, it appeared that some answers were forthcoming as Tommy D made his way to the ring. But Tommy also had a surprise up his sleeve as he hit Prophet in the back with his step-stool and protected Damien. After Tommy took the microphone, he told the fans that he had changed his ways and that he & Damien were cousins and that The Family was joining the House of Strange as of that night. Strange & Tommy then left the ring, but the surprises were only just beginning.
Prophet took the microphone and said he was tired of the crap. He complained about beating everyone he was placed up against and being denied shots at the AACW Championship. He then declared himself a free agent to whoever had the most money to offer him. At that point, the unmistakable music of Devastation, Inc. blared through the loudspeakers and the AACW Champion, Mustafa Sharmoot, came to the ring with the leader of Devastation, Inc., Skandar Akbar. Akbar took the microphone and told Prophet that he had enough money to make it worth Prophet's time. After a brief consideration, the TV Champion shook the hand of the General, placing another AACW Title in the control of the arab faction.
Ironically, these events came on the heels of Prophet having won several awards in the year-end voting done both on the AACW site as well as here on Oklafan. He was voted Most Popular Wrestler of the Year by both the AACW fans and the Oklafan members. He also won Match of the Year (vs. 3rd Rail), Feud of the year (vs. 3rd Rail) and Wrestler of the Year pundits from AACW.
Prophet's contention that he has been overlooked for shots at the AACW Title do bear some possible validity to them. He was the man that Al Farat defeated to become the first AACW Champion, but only received 1 rematch for the title after that. He then defeated Slash on June 15 to become the 1st (and so far only) AACW Television Champion and while he has defended that title against all comers including Rick Garrett, 3rd Rail and Jack Dalton, he never received a shot a the top gold after that title was won by fellow House of Strange member Glen Steel.
Prophet's lust for gold is not a recent development. He holds the record for the longest SRPW Boys & Girls Club Title reign ever, winning that title from Luc Lapointe and holding it for almost 9 months in 2004 before losing it back to SRPW Champion Lapointe in a Title-vs-Title match. This year, Prophet was briefly a member of another elite class as he was one of the select few to hold 2 titles simultaneously when he defeated 3rd Rail to become the 1st CXW Champion.
With the acquisition of Prophet, Akbar now controls 3 of the 6 titles in AACW. Prophet joins the Heavyweight Champion Mustafa Sharmoot and the newly crowned Hardcore Champion Kareem Sadat. Ironically, this once again places Prophet in a position where winning the top gold in the federation will be a near impossibility for him.
