In a recent interview with Arizona radio station 98-KUPD, CM Punk candidly opened up about a relationship of his that came to a sour end. Although he didn't name anyone specifically, Punk had been reportedly dating WWE diva Beth Phoenix until as late as fall 2011.

Ariel Helwani from MMAFighting.com has a 30 minute interview with current WWE RAW World Champion CM Punk which was conducted in his house in Chicago, IL. Punk tackled several subjects but as expected the first one was the proposed walk-out with Sonnen at last weekend's UFC on Fox 2 event. Punk said the two discussed but unfortunately it "leaked before all the chickens got hatched" and eventually it got shot down by Vince McMahon. The champ discussed how he met Chael Sonnen through Jerry Brisco and how the two are so much alike. Helwani asked if there's truth to the rumors that he pulled out from the event not to overshadow Sonnen since Chicago is big on Punk. Punk, smiling, said that he "didn't want to overshadow the main event." The 2012 Royal Rumble brought in some surprise entrants including three who were announcing the show live on pay-per-view. Jerry Lawler was the first of the three announcers who climbed into the ring as entrant #12 however he was thrown out by Cody Rhodes. Booker T then removed his headset as the buzzer for #17 went off but was also eliminated by Cody Rhodes. With the 20th entry coming up, Michael Cole said he "had a hunch" of who it might be, and indeed he knew. Cole removed his jacket and pants to show off his orange outfit however the arrival of another surprise entry, Kharma, wasn't good news for Cole. Kharma decked Cole and then he threw himself over the top rope but landed on the apron as he pleaded with her. King and Booker quickly removed their headsets and eliminated Cole by pulling him from the apron. The other two surprise entries were Hacksaw Jim Duggan and "Road Dogg" Jesse James. Duggan, the winner of the first Royal Rumble ever in 1988, got a loud pop as he stormed the ring and cleaned house to chants of "U-S-A!". He got in as #19, but once again it was Cody Rhodes who eliminated him. The former WWF World Tag Team Champion and D-Generation X member Road Dogg also got a huge pop as he went to his usual routine with the fans showing their approval by chanting "you still got it." The Dogg, entering at #23, however got sent over the top rope by Wade Barrett just before #27 came out.

On Twitter, Jim was asked "Q. I?m not too keen on Cena turning in to a villain. Are you??" J. R. responded: "I don?t see any major changes coming in Cena?s persona."

Jim Ross and rockstar Ted Nugent are a few of the special guests that have already been confirmed to make an appearance on Outdoor Channel?s hit show ? "Shawn Michaels? MacMillan River Adventures" season 2 that will air this July.

Mick Foley announced via Twitter that his episode of ?Celebrity Wife Swap? on ABC has been changed to January 31st airing at 9pm Eastern (8pm Central). The originally scheduled airing of the episode was pre-empted due to President Obama's State of the Union address.

After the Royal Rumble, Mick Foley posted on Twitter: "Thanks for such positive RR feedback. I don?t move too quickly these days, but being out there was a great experience! Bedtime plug next!"

Mick Foley had a cameo on NBC's "30 Rock" last Thursday night.

Another report from one of Mick Foley?s stand-up comedy gigs: ?I went to the Foley show @ Slim?s in SF last night. It?s a small rock and roll club and the bottom floor was fairly packed but not like sardines. They have an upstairs loft with tables that I would say were 3/4 full. I?d estimate just over 300 people. The opening band was a parity band and they did an hour. A quick intro would have been enough. After a 15 minute break Foley did an hour including singing a couple songs with the band. I?d say his material was 75% wrestling humor and stories and 25% non-wrestling comedy. I went with 2 of my cop co-workers. One was a semi-fan while the other one had a lot of WWF knowledge from the 90?s but has had next to no exposure for years. He knew Foley was a wrestler but didn?t know the phenomena of who he was. They both enjoyed the show and afterwords my friend who didn?t know recent wrestling said, ?That guy is really funny-- and he has something to say.? A pretty good compliment as the guy is very perceptive. A lot of ?Foley, Foley?..? chants.?

A jury trial for Rikishi's son, Solofa Fatu Jr. (WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso), has been scheduled for February 13th in Tampa, FL. Fatu is charged with with DUI after cops busted him driving the wrong way on a one-way street in September, 2011. He later failed a breathalyzer test, registering twice the legal limit for the state of Florida. Fatu is represented by Keith Michael Goan who has defended a number of WWE wrestlers in traffic cases, reports the Wrestling Globe Newsletter.

Devon Nicholson and his $6 million lawsuit against WWE is scheduled for court in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in October. Nicholson is seeking damages after WWE rescinded a contract offer to him, alleging by doing so the company was discriminating against his human rights because of his Hepatitis C which was highlighted during a WWE medical screening. Nicholson claims he contracted Hepatitus C after a match with Abdullah the Butcher.

Tom Clark of BleacherReport.com wrote a story entitled "Top 5 NWA Legends Who Should Be in the WWE Hall of Fame" and coming in at #1 was Jim Crockett. In an interview with the United Kingdom's Sportsvibe, Hulk Hogan was asked the following:

Q. There is a lot of talk at the moment with regards to the Four Horsemen being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and Ric Flair attending the Hall of Fame this year whilst under contract with TNA, what are your thoughts?

A: I think it?s great, everybody is being very open and Dixie Carter is open and the lines of communication are open. It?s great that the two companies can agree on this and have a common bond because Ric Flair has been a staple in this industry, and as they are going to induct the Four Horsemen in the Hall of Fame it?s only right Ric Flair is there. It?s like the WWE saying Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair were never here just because we?re now with TNA. It doesn?t make sense because people know we were there and helped build that company. I think with the lines of communication opening it?s good business for everybody.

Hulk Hogan returned to the ring last week during a non-televised TNA live event in Nottingham, England. This was Hogan's first time in the ring in the United Kingdom in almost twenty years. Hogan teamed up with Sting and James Storm to take on Bobby Roode, Kurt Angle and Bully Ray in a six man tag team match. The ending saw James Storm hitting the hot tag to Hogan who came in and tore his shirt as fans went crazy. Hogan hit right hands on all the heels and then hit the big boot to the face, or in this case, to the abdomen, of Roode. Hogan then tagged in Storm and helped Storm deliver the big leg drop for the pin. While this was a non-televised event you can see footage of the ending by clicking here.

In a press release issued over the weekend, BYB Brands announced that sixteen time World champion and Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been named Brand Ambassador for a new brand of Energy and Protein power shots called Fuel in a Bottle. The drink will be introduced in early March and is distributed by beverage giants Coca-Cola Consolidated. "Ric Flair can now easily energize his famous limousine-ridin?, jet-flyin?, kiss-stealin?, wheelin-dealin? lifestyle with Fuel in a Bottle," said BYB Brands president Norm George. "We
are excited about the partnership with Ric. His distinctive energy and
dynamism make him the perfect ambassador for our Fuel in a Bottle power shots." According to Flair?s agent at Legacy Talent and Entertainment, Flair will support Fuel in a Bottle by licensing his image to market the product, shooting a TV commercial and voicing radio ads. "We think Ric?s fans will love the ad campaigns and Fuel in a Bottle shots," says CEO Melinda Morris Zanoni. Fuel in a Bottle Energy and Fuel in a Bottle Protein will be available through the Southeastern United States in early March. They will be sold in convenience retail, health-food stores, and other specialty retail outlets.

In a match taped for the February 9th "Impact Wrestling", it was Sting & James Storm defeating Bully Ray & TNA World Champion Bobby Roode. Sting blew out his heel in an innocuous looking spot. Sting made Roode submit to the Scorpion Death Lock for the finish, then referee Brian Hebner did the X sign with his arms and sprinted down the aisle to the back to get help. Sting did a brief promo praising the fans, then said he?d heard something pop in his heel. Sting then brawled very gingerly with Bully Ray to the back.

Sting posted an injury update on Twitter: "Although I couldn?t finish the way you all deserved last night, I believe my injury is not serious."

Some more notes from the TNA television tapings last Saturday in London. There was originally going to be a big entrance and ramp but they stripped it down at about 2pm for reasons that were never confirmed. Sting was walking fine as he left the arena but he was banged up. Others described him as limping and hurting. He was going to see a doctor when he got home but he didn't think his injury was serious. The event should look great on television because of the good crowd and super hot reactions. The camera shooting around the arena looked great. The hard camera shots didn't look any different from any other Impact, but the big crowd made TNA look more major league.

Kamala posted the following on his Facebook page: "I wish i could still be in the ring but deep down i know my time is up. now days having only one leg its ovious. there is no turning back the hands of times. thanks to all of you that write me and keeping me in your prayers. right now my heart is broken but in time I know it will heal. I wish I had the skill to do something else but i dont know what it would be."

Among those attending the Southern California history seminar at WrestleReunion in Los Angeles were Dick Beyer, Mando Guerrero, Jack Armstrong, Tony Rocco, El Negro, Pepper Martin, Jeff Walton, Billy Rogers, John Birch, Rock Riddle, Art Mihalik, Superstar Billy Graham, the sons of the Torres Brothers, as well as photographers Theo Ehret and Dan Westbrook. Longtime Los Angeles, WWF, and WCW announcer Miguel Alonso, who was in a horrible auto accident a few days before, left a hospital in Oceanside and insisted on coming, did show up, albeit in a wheelchair. Billy Graham gave a long anti-Vince speech and talked about the start of his career as a tag team partner of Dr. Jerry Graham. Beyer and Rock Riddle stole the show with their speeches. Riddle also cut a promo about being in the Battle Royal.

HighSpots was filming the Los Angeles Celebration seminar Saturday so expect it on DVD soon. Abdullah the Butcher was late for his appearance there because he was talking to Carlos Colon for a long time. Abdullah arrived in a wheelchair but was able to move into a chair at the table where he was signing. The most popular stuff was Mick Foley, who did whatever character people wanted, Brooke Tessmacher in a bikini photo shoot that had everyone's attention, and the Papa Shango gimmick photo opportunity.

Verne Gagne appeared with his son Greg this past Saturday at a showing of the original movie "The Wrestler". Verne did not speak, and his hand was not steady enough to sign autographs, but apparently he enjoys being in public, wa able to recognize himself in the movie, and posed for photos.

There?s a story on Verne Gagne being at the Parkway Theater in Minneapolis, MN this past Saturday for several screenings of "The Wrestler." They talked a lot about him in a TV news story pushing how famous he used to be locally. The incident where he killed the elderly man a few years back was never mentioned in any of the stories. Looked like a lot of older fans had a good time seeing him and seeing the movie that relived 1974 AWA wrestling during one of its hot periods. You can read the story by clicking here.

Earl Kennedy had surgery Friday to have part of his metatarsal removed, due to an infection that sprung up over Thanksgiving. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan extends condolences to Jeff Jackson on the passing of his father this past weekend.

Oklafan extends its condolences to the friends and family of Blade. His tag team with Shank was known as Death Row and the held the SWCW Tag Team Titles from February 2nd until March 22nd in 2008. Blade, whose real name was Daryl G. Davis, was also the nephew of Kareem Sadat.

Oklafan extends its condolences to the family and friends of Jack Spencer Barnes, who wrestled professionally in the 1960's as Dr. X and The Great Bolo, and was living in Tulsa at the time of his death. Our records of wrestling in the 1960's are sketchy and information about masked wrestlers back then is even worse so there no way of knowing if Barnes competed in Oklahoma.

Oklafan extends its condolences to the friends and family of "Pimptight" Kevin Lovejones who passed away last week at the age of 33. Lovejones spent part of his wrestling career in Sooner Pro Wrestling, but due to the lack of info we have about SPW, we don't know how much he wrestled in Oklahoma. However, he was either a tag partner or a frequent opponent of such local wrestlers as Jason Jones, Michael Barry, Jake Boulder, and many more. His funeral was this past Saturday in Natural Dam, AR.
