Kenny Campbell cleared to wrestle, new SRPW Commisioner announced
Posted: Jan 20th 2005 By: oklastaff
When Kenny Campbell was appointed commissioner of Steel Rage Pro Wrestling on November 19, 2004, it was hoped that eventually he would be able to return to the ring to wrestle. Campbell was cleared by doctors to return to the ring on January 16, 2005.
Because of his return, the SRPW Board of Directors were faced with a dilemma. They could have continued to let Campbell serve as commissioner, but with his impending feud with Adam Thornstowe and the rest of West Coast, Inc. that was not a viable option. The board turned to one of its long time and faithful employees Eric Roberts to fill the position and replace Campbell.
Roberts has been serving as Director of Public Relations for SRPW and will continue to serve in that capacity while also watching over day to day operations of SRPW. Roberts' first act as commissioner was to change the main event on January 16 as a favor to Kenny Campbell. The match was originally Campbell vs. Adam Thornstowe. Roberts changed the match to include Jack Dalton tagging with Thornstowe against Campbell and the returning Dirty Harry Sanchez. Roberts was also seated at ringside for the main event to ensure Campbell & Sanchez would get a fair shake in the match. Although a chair became involved in the match and WCI's Beau Dalton was blocking the view of Roberts at the finish of the match, it appears that Roberts will not let WCI or any other wrestler in SRPW get away with causing trouble.
