Anarchy 2nd Ruins Khaos' Christmas Championship Hopes

Anarchy -- A state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority.

Which is an odd definition because it seemed like Anarchy 2nd obeyed a higher authourity.

Since the revival of SRPW, Anarchy 2nd has fought the good fight. He's popular. And he's successful, racking up an undefeated record in the company.

But it seems like his success isn't being rewarded. And perhaps that's the reason for his action at last week's SRPW event as Anarchy committed the ultimate betrayal and left without offering any form of explanation.

In November, Anarchy had been announced by his tag team partner Khaos as the special guest referee for the No DQ match between Khaos & SRPW United States Champion Ray Martinez for the title. Khaos had been chasing after Ray and his belt for 6 months and finally believed he had a chance at winning it. And with Anarchy there to make certain that Martinez was unable to pull any unexpected tricks out of his bag, it seemed that the up-and-coming star had a lock on his first championship.

But Anarchy also had to compete in his own match first, opening the event in a Triple Threat Match against Jon Cross and Dakota Storm. And it seemed that a slightly more aggressive Anarchy was present in this match. Typically in Triple Threat Matches, there is some cooperation between two of the combatants against the third, at least for a brief time. With no love lost between Cross & Anarchy, the fans thought they could expect some teamwork from Storm & Anarchy, but it was more a case of one-upsmanship as both of them used Cross as almost as a practice dummy to demonstrate how much better they were than the other at executing certain moves (much the crowd's amusement and Cross' frustration). In a brilliant bit of ring awareness, the end of the match saw Cross hoise Anarchy up for the Billy Mays powerbomb. But Anarchy spun around so he was sitting on Cross' shoulders. Storm had climned onto the top rope and tried to come off with an impromptu Doomsday Device-style clothesline, but Anarchy ducked. Storm hit the canvas and Anarchy executed a Victory Roll for the win. Another win for the "Suicide King". And then, in a move that no one else may have perceived, Anarchy foreshadowed his actions later in the show by stepping on the prone body of Dakota Storm who was laying outside the ring. He could easily have walked around him, but found it more satisfying to just use him as a stepping stone.

But most of the fans didn't catch on to that. So when Anarchy arrived to the ring for the US Title match, the cheers still erupted. And it seemed that everything was going to go in the direction that most people expected, as Anarchy showed blatant favouritism towards Khaos during the match. Every time Khaos went for a pin, Anarchy made fast 2 counts, but Martinez would somehow get a shoulder up and be able to escape losing his belt. As it was a No DQ match, the weapons soon came out. Cookie sheets found themselves embedded on both competitors' heads. In what many called the "Holy S***" moment of the night, Khaos picked Maritinez up and put him through an ironing board that had been set up in the ring. But none of this was enough to give either man the win. In the end, Khaos seemed to surprise Martinez with a sit-out powerbomb and Anarchy counted the champion down. Khaos was elated as he clutched the championship belt he'd been dreaming of for months.

Desperately trying to use his veteran mentality, Martinez demanded the microphone and said that he wanted the match restarted under the same stipulations. Anarchy agreed, but before doing so, consulted with Khaos to make sure that he was ready. Khaos said it was fine and when the bell rang, it looked like it was just a formality as Anarchy hit Martinez in the back with his kendo stick. But then, in a surprise move, Anarchy did the same to Khaos. When Martinez rolled on to his feet, Anarchy again clobbered him with the kendo stick, knocking him onto Khaos, and then counted 3. Khaos' title reign hadn't even lasted 2 minutes and it was all due to a man that Khaos considered friend and tag team partner.

Anarchy left the arena without offering any explanation and has remained quiet for the most part. But in a cryptic post on his FB account, he did say that between now and January 7 (when the next SRPW event will be held), the fans simply need to ask themselves "Why, Anarchy, why?" And perhaps the reason is staring the fans right in the face. No matter what Anarchy did, he wasn't getting what he wanted. So like a petulant child, he decided to just go and take it. Friends, loyalty, the adulation of the SRPW fans...apparently those mean nothing to him anymore. Perhaps on January 7th, everything will be a lot clearer.
