WWE's Beth Phoenix, Natalya and Kharma Shall Soon Intertwine on Television

WWE's Beth Phoenix, Natalya and Kharma Shall Soon Intertwine on Television

It's been extraordinarily difficult to compose coherent thoughts about my personal feelings on the direction of WWE programming the last few months. No more, as I wholeheartedly say I love the " #pinupstrong" storyline.

Beth Phoenix and Natalya have consistently caught and maintained my interest since this arc began. I have zero interest in the rest of the Diva division, but marvel at what I guess to be contortionist ability of A.J. to be able to flex so well when Natalya bridges the Sharpshooter. Hands down the best maneuver in all of wrestling right now.

I see this as a build up for the return of Kharma. All the promos about the Barbie girls in the WWE, wanting to make all their opponents cry, etc., I think it is to slowly build toward Kharma return, and the feud to follow. Granted, it will still be some time before Kharma will return, but the groundwork is being well laid, and it is a welcome change and surprise to a neglected division.

Personally, I would like to see a shift from a traditional heel turn and actions, to more of a badass character from both Beth and Natalya. From slinking away when the baby faces come to make the save, to standing ground and overwhelming the cavalry with superior skill and technique. It wouldn't be much of a stretch, considering the talent level of their adversaries. Staying well within PG, but making competition seem more like a chore than a challenge as time gets shorter to Kharma return.

In fact, it would make things all the more interesting, and give more credence to the Pin Up Strong motto Beth and Natalya ascribe to. By standing atop the Divas, and steadily talking smack, and backing it up, the ensuing clash with Kharma would be all the more exciting, and also have ample opportunities for new or refreshed talent to enter and offer more entertainment than a pretty face unveiling yet another magazine cover for yet another pictorial.

On the other hand, it could just be the desperate wish of a disillusioned fan of wrestling, in the world of entertainment, grasping at straws and hoping not to get stuck with the short one again. All comments, thoughts and rebuttals are welcome. I look forward to the dialogue.
