WWE Survivor Series: Mick Foley Adds Nothing to the Rock & John Cena's Feud

WWE Survivor Series: Mick Foley Adds Nothing to the Rock & John Cena's Feud

Posted: Nov 16th 2011 By: mikeiles

Seeing Mick Foley back on WWE Television was great last night. It was nostalgia television at it?s best, as Foley has not lost his microphone skills. However, Foley does not need to be added into the storyline of two of the WWE?s biggest superstars ever in The Rock and John Cena.

For those of you who do not remember, Foley (then as Mankind) did the ?This is your life? skit before with the Rock. It was classic, funny and had well timed comedy. The Rock did a great job at playing along with Foley, making the segment even better.

Plus the crowd at in Greensboro, North Carolina played a big part in the success of the segment.

However, when they tried to recreate the successful segment with Cena last night, it failed. No, let me rephrase that, it was an epic failure.

The segment was dead on arrival, as Cena?s hometown crowd of Boston boo?d Cena from the start. Then it fell flat with Cena?s ?old baseball coach.? Got even worse with the ?surprise? return of Bull Buchanan.

Then was completely buried dead when Cena?s father came out as a heel.

If the WWE tried putting Foley in and succeeding with it, they would have just had him come out as a mediator between the two.

Seeing Foley with Rock?s and Cena?s shirts sown together to make one shirt was great. If they would have continued on as Foley the peacemaker, it would have made for compelling stuff.

Instead what we got was a very long and drawn out segment, that Cena crapped on at every chance.

It?s time for Foley to move away from Cena and Rock and move towards some of the secondary talent. Like fellow Long Island member, Zack Ryder.

Wait, Zack Ryder forming a team with Mick Foley, maybe as Dude Love? Are you serious bro?

Yes I am serious. Did you see the interaction between these two fellow Long Islanders? It was epic seeing Ryder teaching Foley how to fist pump.

Then woo woo wooing with Ryder, as Foley signed Zack?s petition to wrestle for the United States Championship.

With Foley giving Ryder that big push, it will solidify Zack as someone that can shine in the main event.

Having Foley with Rock and Cena can make for good television. All three are great in promos on their own, but together it just does not mesh right.

Foley is needed in working with the mid-card talent like Ryder. With his guidance, Ryder, along with Dolph Ziggler, can lead the next wave of great feuds.

As Ryder would say, ?Woo Woo Woo.......you know it!?
