Mick Foley's Absence from Survivor Series Build-Up Could Have Major Consequences
Posted: Oct 30th 2011 By: mikeiles
The long-rumored WWE return of Mick Foley has apparently been delayed, and it could very well spell disaster for the angles running into Survivor Series.
Mick Foley was advertised on WWE.com, as well as on television, to appear at the three-hour RAW go-home show for Survivor Series on Nov. 20. The Rock is scheduled to appear as well, and it was billed as a Rock reunion show.
Both Foley and the "reunion" has been nixed from advertising. I find it highly unlikely that after putting the advertisement for Foley's appearance on television that WWE would suddenly try to hide his return to make it a surprise.
Chances are, Foley has some sort of prior engagement, or something has come up that will not allow him to make the show.
There has been a great deal of speculation regarding Foley's role once returning to WWE, and many clues point to him being the solution to RAW's current General Manager angle. The problem is: His absence may cause WWE to change their plans and trash that possibility entirely.
Yes, it would be logical for WWE to simply make it work without Foley appearing at the Nov. 20 RAW, or even Survivor Series, but this wouldn't be the first time that WWE threw logic out the window and chose to go with something out of left field.
As history has show us, WWE's audibles do not always turn out as well as they look on paper. I'm incredibly anxious to see what the company chooses to do with the angle going forward, and Foley's involvement in the near future.
