Hagen Finds Self In Last-Chance Situation For ComPro Title

Hagen Finds Self In Last-Chance Situation For ComPro Title

Posted: Oct 14th 2011 By: CMBurnham

Leave it to people like Dutch Hagen & Richard Pierce to try and ruin what was supposed to be a good event.

The last time those two men appeared at a ComPro event, Hagen lost the ComPro Title to Tim Rockwell and ComPro owner Mike Two subsequently fired him. That was in April. Upon ComPro's return to action, Mike Two and Tim Rockwell were only two of the surprised people to see Hagen & Pierce emerge from the curtain.

Mike Two and Tim Rockwell were addressing the crowd about the cause for the event (a fundraiser for 4 children sick with various types of cancers) when Hagen & Pierce interrupted the procedings. Mike Two recounted the circumstances of their last interaction and Pierce then laid into Two, saying that Hagen never received his rematch and that he intended to sue Two "into oblivion" and put ComPro out of business if he didn't receive his opportunity.

As if things weren't bad enough then, ComPro Showtime & UWE United States Champion Brandon Walker then entered the procedings. Carrying the Any-Time-Any-Place contract, Walker reminded Rockwell that he could cash in and get a shot at the ComPro Title whenever he chose to and that he would love to add it to the gold he already had. Walker then told Rockwell to watch his back and sucker punched him, then scooted out of the ring.

Seeing that he was losing control of things, Mike Two prepared a quick remedy by granting Hagen his title rematch, but promising that if Rockwell pinned him or made him submit, he was gone from ComPro again. Meanwhile, he ordered Walker to stay out and defend his title against Steven Sterling, which resulted in what many considered an upset and a new champion. Part of that victory had to be credited to Rockwell, as he came out to ringside and distracted "Prime Time", telling him to watch HIS back just as Sterling rolled Walker up in a schoolboy for the win.

In the main event of the first show, Rockwell and Hagen took 6 months of pent up frustration out on each other by immediately brawling around the outside of the ring. Both men went full-force in their offence and refused to take a step back unless it was beaten out of them. In the end, Hagen had Rockwell set up for the Dutch Oven, but Rockwell slipped out hit a Grapevine DDT, impaling Hagen vertically for several seconds before he fell. As Rockwell went for the pin, Walker slid in and began to pummel Rockwell, earning a DQ win for Rockwell. Rockwell then took it upon himself to demand a title shot at the next show in a Triple Threat Match, facing both Hagen and Walker at the same time.

That match was set for the main event of the second show and it certainly lived up to expectations. At one point, Rockwell had a sleeper on Hagen who had a sleeper on Walker, but Walker dropped down and delivered a double stunner to escape that. Lots of interference occurred at the behest of Richard Pierce, who found the referee distracted while Walker and Hagen beat on each other, allowing himself to choke Rockwell on the outside. Walker looked like he was going to win the match, as he he executed a power bomb on Rockwell as Rockwell was giving Dutch a Superplex. But it was only good enough for a two. In the end, Rockwell scored the pin on Walker after a Grapevine DDT, keeping his title. But once again, Richard Pierce protested the outcome, saying that since Hagen wasn't pinned or made to submit, he shouldn't be fired and deserves another chance at the title. Mike Two was forced to reluctantly agree and set up one final match between the two for the title at the October 21 "Save Ryder" event. This time, it would be Falls Count Anywhere and No DQ. There has to be a winner. And, as Mike Two said, Hagen either walks out as champion or he walks out forever!
