Dustin Harp recently tried out for the Ponca City Gladiators, a semi-pro football team that is a member of the Oklahoma Football League, and made the team. He says the coach wants to make him a defensive end.

J. T. LaMotta was a guest on Indywarz Radio last night. He spoke about his injuries and his health condition. He has said he is taking at least two months off from wrestling. You can listen to the interview by clicking here.

Mr. Big announced his retirement from pro wrestling on his Facebook page.

Apparently, the decision not to utilize Jim Ross on commentary at "SummerSlam" was made at literally the last moment. Jim Ross was in the building, and prepared to commentate. ?Game time decision to use Booker to (represent) Smackdown on tonight?s SummerSlam and to work with (Jerry Lawler) and (Michael Cole),? Jim Ross wrote on Twitter. He also added ?WWE management made the call late Sunday to use Booker for Smackdown representation ? No big deal to me.?

The WWE produced DVD entitled ?Wrestling?s Greatest Rivalries: Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart? comes out on October 25th. Among the matches included are 2 matches pitting The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) against The Rockers (Shawn Michaels & Marty Janetty), one in Madison Square Garden from November 25, 1989, the other in the Tokyo Dome from March 30, 1991.

Mick Foley will be a guest on the "Opie & Anthony Show" on August 24th promoting his stand-up comedy show that night in Bellmore, NY.

Mick Foley will be manning the phones at the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon on New York, NY on September 4th.

Kayfabe Commentaries will be releasing a new DVD entitled "Timeline: The History of WWE - 1997" hosted by Jim Cornette. They have also released some sneak preview videos of the DVD. One of them is about WWE hiring Marc Mero and his then wife Sable, which you can view by clicking here. The second sneak preview talks about a fight between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart that broke out in the locker room and ended up with Michaels losing some hair and walking out stating it was an unsafe workplace. Funny stuff from Twitter: Tommy Mercer, who is Crimson on TNA, tweeted Bill Goldberg: "While you were getting stretched by Jericho I was dodging bullets for this country." Goldberg replied: "Who are you again???"

During a recent autograph signing, Bill Goldberg answered a question from a fan who was videotaping him about who would he wrestle if he had one more match. Goldberg, without thinking twice, said Steve Austin. ?That didn?t work,? Goldberg said with a smile. He added that probably Austin would say the same thing as there are so many people who wanted that match and he thinks it would be a dream match. ?Any chance we?ll see you come back and wrestle,? the fan asked again. Unlike the first question, Goldberg thought about it for a bit, then looked at the camera and said, ?Yes. It will happen before the end of 2011?..probably.?

Some great news coming out of the NWA Legends fanfest in Atlanta, GA. Paul Orndorff announced that he is now cancer free. It is believed he underwent some treatments for throat cancer earlier this year but hasn?t really elaborated since then with any details. ?There are so many people out there that?s been praying for me, you don?t know how much that meant to me,? Orndorff told Bill Apter at Fanfest. ?I?m going to be fine.?

Bill Dundee apparently had a great time at the Fan Fest in Atlanta and is interested in those kind of bookings. He's also working on a book about his life in pro wrestling.

The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame will honor Angelo Savoldi, who with the deaths in recent years of Abe Coleman and Jack LaLanne, would be the world's oldest living pro wrestler as best we can tell. It will take place on October 1st at the Radisson Hotel in Carteret, NJ.

Oklafan congratulates Brian Lakewood on the birth of his daughter, Bella Sue, who was born August 11th.

Rage Logan suffered a medial malleolus fracture in his left ankle and required surgery on August 12th. He will be out of action a minimum of 6 weeks. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan sends its condolences to the friends and family of Bobby Fields, who passed away this past weekend.
