Breaking Treyfabe: Destino And Controverso

I know I haven?t blogged in a while, much like La Omega has been kept out of Elote?s luchador wrestling federation ?much like Ray Martinez has been kept down by the man ?some of my other entrepreneur ventures have been keeping me away from blogging.

Tonight?s live blogging is while watching TNA?s Destination X pay per view.

1st match is Kazarian vs. Samoa Joe ? fun enough match. Kaz took everything Joe had to dish out and came out with a win. Solid B rating on this one.

2nd match is Douglas Williams vs. Mark Haskins?.who??? Haskins slipped off the rope before missing a sault and Williams getting the win. Match was a D- borderline F.

3rd match was Generation Me vs. Eric Young and Shark Boy ? Eric Young was reinvigorated when he took off his pants, hah. Fun match and good victory by Young and Sharkie.

4th match was Shannon Moore vs. Robbie Awesome vs. Amazing Red vs. Alex Shelley ? Shelley picked up the victory in what has thus far been the best match of the night with a lot of good spots. Giving this one an A-.

So Cal Val is doing the interviews backstage wearing the same thing that my prom date wore. I?m not making this up.

5th match was Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn ? not as smooth as their old matches but I enjoyed this for nostalgias sake. Some good bleeding. RVD pulled out the victory after taking a beating with some chair shots. I give it a B+.

6th match was Austin Aries vs. Zema Ion vs. Low-Ki vs. Jack Evans ? so many great spots in this one. Austin Aries with an amazing win and he gets a contract with Impact now. A+ match given the entertainment value and the rest of the card.

7th match is Abyss vs. Brian Kendrick ? Kendrick with a win after a lot of run ins by Bischoff and his old timer crew before the entire X division came out and cleared the ring. Meh, I give the match a C.

8th match is AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels ? great match with some brutal spots. AJ got the victory with a spiral tap. A- match.

Overall a very solid pay per view.

Yesterday evening I went to Steel Rage Professional Wrestling, formerly Main Event Reality Combat ? the Greater Tulsa area?s best non-luchador wrestling federation. Some comments ?

- Ace Archuleta is a beast of a newcomer with his own ring entrance, looks like he will be teaming with everyone?s favorite antagonist, Ray Martinez
- Fuel and Jon Cross are a hilarious tag team that bring much needed comic relief to the business. Also, Fuel has a future as a Russell Brand impersonator.
- Also, the Ring Intruders got robbed in their title match against the Harley Race trained Big Smooth and Pork Chop.
- I?m looking forward to their next main event ? X-Statik vs. Cobra Kai.
- Of particular note, when Oklafan.com was plugged, as it is at every event, the ring announcer was heckled by some of the staff writers for Breaking TreyFabe. They shouted ?elote.com? ?in reference to the Elote Luchador Wrestling Federation ? and the unnamed announcer claimed he had no clue what the hecklers were talking about.
- What is interesting about this is that someone who resembles the Oklafan writer/ring announcer has been seen at nearly every Elote event ? last time going so far as asking the Bar Fly if he was in the midst of a face turn ? obviously the interest from the Oklafan community is there ? but alas, the coverage is not.
- Lastly, it was told to this writer that Compound Pro Wrestling has been listed as an ?Inactive? federation ? very sad news for the Tulsa wrestling community as Richie Adams should be headlining Tulsa rings on a monthly basis ? and we are getting screwed out of the indescribable enjoyment that is seeing Alec Bisogno dance.

Now onto the event I?ve really been waiting for, and one of the best built up WWE pay per views I can think of in recent memory, Money in the Bank.

- First up was the Smackdown MITB match, as expected, plenty of spots in this one. A little upset that the Spanish announcing table was destroyed this early in the pay per view.
- Sin Cara was stretchered out after being controversially powerbombed by Sheamus through a ladder.
- Daniel Bryan with a surprising win ? hopefully a fun future run they have in store for him.
- Kelly Kelly with a very uninspiring victory over Brie Bella to retain her title.
- Mark Henry with a clean and solid victory over Big Show.
- Next up was the Raw MITB match.
- As known for awhile now, Alberto Del Rio?s destiny was fulfilled as he won the MITB briefcase.
- Next we had Christian vs. Randy Orton for the world heavyweight title.
- Surprise DQ on that one as Randy Orton with a low blow on Christian ? rules of this match had the clause that if Orton got DQ?d he?d lose.
- Again, more damage to the Spanish announcing table.
- CM Punk vs. Cena was a very well hyped match ? and Punk had the crowd cheering for him, not many Cena fans but there were some?.so great to hear boos for Cena.
- Colt Cabana was in the crowd.
- Long enough match that gradually became entertaining as it went on.
- Still though, too many botches for a main of this caliber.
- CM Punk with a GTS to pin Cena after McMahon?s interference backfired.
- McMahon then called for Del Rio to come out and cash in the MITB but he got knocked out quickly, controversially.
- Punk left through the crowd with the belt, as McMahon was left angry in the middle of the ring, an interesting ending to a decent enough card.
