Doberman files protest
Posted: Jul 16th 2011 By: mikeiles
On the heels of the Rice City Rumble event on Saturday which saw ?Maniac? Mike Brooks win the Texas Independent Wrestling League Oklahoma Championship, the former champion Doberman has launched a barrage of protests.
For the past few days, Doberman had been posting comments on his Facebook fan page as well as the TIWL Facebook page stating that his lawyers were now involved and that he and the organization have entered ?mediation?.
WrestlinginTexas.com sought comments from both TIWL Executive Director Dr. Steven Zarella, Esq. and ?Maniac? Mike Brooks.
Brooks was at no loss for words. ?Doberman is just a sore loser. I won the belt. It was a Red River Death Match,? which means no disqualification. He got the Oklahoma Cowboy involved, ?Dirty? Craig had my back, and it was all legal. He can cry about the green mist I used all he wants too. I knew he was gonna pull dirty tricks, so I planned ahead. He?s just mad because not only did I win his precious belt, but one of the biggest wrestling websites in Oklahoma reported that the TIWL finally recognized his title in the same article where they mention he lost it. I am the champ, he has to deal with it.?
The Executive Director had this to say: ?I can confirm that Doberman and his legal representatives have been in contact with the Executive Committee regarding the match. Several protests have been filed regarding the match. All of which are being reviewed for validity. We will review the video of the match as well as interview the referee, the champion ?Maniac? Mike Brooks, ?Dirty? Craig Jericho, and the officials at ringside. Even I will be interviewed as I sat at ringside as well as I was the one who signed the match. We have every intention of fully investigating each claim to give Doberman as well as the champion ?Maniac? Mike Brooks the due process they rightfully deserve.?
Dr. Zarella, nor any members of the Executive Committee would comment about any timeline on when a decision would be made.
