Wrestling is not a taboo word anymore. Charlie Haas loves the word ? it?s his ?character?. An All American wrestler from Seton Hall University ? Charlie excels at it. ROH Tag Team Champions Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) have signed with Ring of Honor according to a release sent out by the promotion, which is notable because at one point Benjamin was under consideration to return to WWE.

ROH had a major press conference last Friday talking the sale to Sinclair, Sunday's ROH iPPV, and debuting their new logo. They heavily pushed the September 24th debut date for the new television show on 35 Sinclair affiliates around the country. Gary Juster, who did great promotional work for WCW, was there and was introduced as the guy who would be serving the same role in ROH. Jim Cornette is the Executive Producer of the company and said ROH would continue to be about building up new young stars. He said the business was in the doldrums with many top stars long past their primes and ROH was looking to change that. They are going to roll-out strictly on Sinclair stations at first (meaning no New York or Philadelphia), but they'll still be running house show in those markets and hope to expand the TV in the coming months. They claimed they would get 1,000 times the exposure on Sinclair that they did on HDNet. They are looking at opening up doors in Japan and elsewhere for talent exchanges, but said this probably wouldn't happen until the TV was entrenched. They noted that the TV show would be starting everything from scratch since they're presuming it'll be largely all new viewers. They plugged all the matches for Sunday and did a pull-apart spot with The Briscoe Brothers and ROH Tag Team Champions Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin). It was also announced today that Dayton, OH on August 12th is being rescheduled for November 18th, and Plymouth, MD on September 16th has been canceled outright. All due to scheduling issues with the new planned TV tapings. More info can be found at ROHwrestling.com.

Bob Orton, Jr. will be having both of his knees replaced surgically soon, reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Ted DiBiase also needs knee replacement surgery, but has yet to set a date for the procedure. DiBiase was needing hip replacement surgery, but has been told they can treat his hip issues with therapy, medication, and getting his weight down from his current 320 pounds.

The current plan is to attempt to duplicate the success of The Miz-Alex Riley dynamic with the reunion of Ted DiBiase, Jr. and Cody Rhodes on SmackDown. The plan is for DiBiase to do the dirty work for Rhodes, and then turn him babyface. The company is admitting they have dropped the ball thus far with the son of ?Million Dollar Man? Ted DiBiase, reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. As always, wrestling story lines are subject to change.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was in Stamford, Connecticut, doing some work for the WWE DVD department, interviewing two fellow Hall of Famers ? Bret "Hit Man" Hart and Shawn Michaels. Ross said it was a "special day" for him and spent five hours interviewing both for an upcoming DVD to be released on October 4. The DVD will chronicle the long feud that the two former WWE champions had between them while in the WWE and of course the topic of the Montreal screw job will be covered in-depth. Ross called the interviews - covering their respective careers, behind the scenes at Montreal in 1997 and the impact of what happened that day - open, honest and compelling. Jim Ross has confirmed this new DVD project via Twitter adding: ?Bret/HBK DVD out in Oct. Covers their careers & impact/behind scenes of Montreal 97. Proud of what we got on tape. Open/honest/compelling. Wow, HBK-Bret project blowing up Twitter. It was 3 of us together. Gr8 interation. Much more than Montreal 97. Coming in Oct.?. He then added "Amazing amount of questions on HBK-Hitman sitdown/DVD. About MUCH more than Montreal. Sat side by side & answered all questions."

WWE has announced the release of Chavo Guerrero, Jr. He is the son of Chavo Guerrero Sr., the grandson of Gory Guerrero, and the nephew of Hector Guerrero, Mando Guerrero, and Eddie Guerrero. He commented on his release via Twitter: "Being happy. I was not happy in WWE anymore. I had a smile on my face last night though when I got my release though! :) now it?s time For me to start being a Guerrero again, and start kicking ass again, be able to tell stories in the ring like u know we can. :) win or lose. I will never go back to the place WWE put me in. I will never go back to being under utilized and watching ppl who suck get bigger ?pushes? Than me! Thank u to all of u who stuck by me & kept reminding me, I was better than that! :) stay tuned.. Big things coming!! Now I will." Later, Chavo, Jr. posted on Twitter: "People asking what I?m gonna do now..I?m gonna stay home and be a Dad. :) going to watch my son?s football practice now. :) Happy!". Vickie Guerrero, Eddie's widow posted on Twitter: "Vickie Guerrero via Twitter: "My respect goes to Chavo. He has made a decision that makes him and his beautiful family happy. I love him and will miss him!"

TNA announced a Sting vs. Hogan confrontation in 2011, Samoa Joe vs. Devon, Gunner vs. A. J. Styles, Mickie James & Miss Tessmacher & Tara vs. Angelina & Winter & Madison in an elimination match and an X-Division three-way for next week, and also said the show would have limited commercial breaks.

Highspots issued the following statement regarding Ric Flair paying back they money he owed to them on their official Facebook page: ?Letting our own social media get the scoop, we have FINALLY been paid by Ric Flair for the debt dating back years ago. No jail time for Naitch. Whichever Angel pitched in the $ for him THANK YOU.? A warrant was issued for Flair?s arrest back on May 25th where he was ordered to pay an estimated fee of $35,000 or face jail time. Michael Bochiccio of Highspots is also planning to write a book based on the depositions in his lawsuit against Flair.

Sal Corrente, who does the WrestleReunion conventions, is joining with Highspots.com for Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior at one of their conventions to do a face-to-face interview with Bill Apter and sign autographs, offering $100,000 to split between the two of them.

The Lou Thesz/George Tragos Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame sent out a release noting that Mick Foley will be attending their Hall of Fame ceremony on July 23rd in Waterloo, IA at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center. Foley will be given the Frank Gotch award for a pro wrestler who makes a great contribution to society. Among the people attending the awards banquet will be Jim Ross, Dory Funk Jr. Terry Funk, Gerald Brisco, Jim Duggan, Larry Hennig, Mad Dog Vachon, Baron Von Raschke, Danny Hodge, Dan Gable, Pat Miletich, Bob Roop and Fritz Von Goering. Brisco and Ross will also be doing a pro wrestling training session the day before the banquet. Danny Hodge will be doing an MMA seminar.

Josh Barnett posted on Twitter last Thursday: "Went to the Darrell Gwynn Foundation Auction event tonight with Goldberg and helped raise some awareness for the cause"

Stan Hansen's new autobiography, called "The Last Outlaw" will be available for the first time at the NWA Legends Convention in Atlanta from August 4th through 7th. Hansen will also be doing a Q&A. The book is said to be the definitive word about the American who probably knows as much about the heyday of Japanese wrestling, since he was in the middle of several of them.

Spoiler 2000 recently underwent knee surgery. He should be fully recovered in 6 to 8 weeks. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.

Oklafan send its condolences to the friends and family of Crisstopher Crow who died in a car accident last week.
