Wrestlemania will commandeer a downtown Fort Smith stage in April.

Traditional Championship Wrestling's Throwdown in the Downtown V event will begin at 7 p.m. April 9 at the Fort Smith Event Center, and those in the ring will comprise a who's who of wresting, said Matt Riviera, TCW president. World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler, TCW International Title Match Champion Jeff Jett, The Dark Circle, World Championship Wrestling star Malia Hosaka, Michael "Mr. Saturday Night" Barry, former WWE Women's Champion Jazz, Golden Boy Greg Anthony will be among those showing their strength for the audience, he said.

"This is a family-friendly event, so it's good for all ages to attend," said Riviera, a Russellville native and VH1 reality TV star who also will compete in the event. "This is a really big event for the Fort Smith community, so we're hoping for great attendance."

Other wrestlers scheduled to show their strength when the bell rings include Rich Rude, Beautiful Bobby Eaton, Rodney Mack, Angel, Darling Dustin Heritage, Jimmy Youngblood, Seth Knight, Bull Schmitt, Chas Cardington and Talon, he said.

"Jerry ?The King' Lawler is a wrestling icon who can be seen every Monday night on ?WWE Monday Night Raw,' and he and I will be wrestling in the TCW Tag Team Title against the Dark Circle," Riveria said. "The Dark Circle includes Tim Storm and Apoc, and they have held the belts for over a year. No team has been able to defeat them."

Hosaka will face off against Jazz for the first time ever, although both wrestlers formed tag team together in Japan, he said. Hosaka and Jazz have a combined wrestling experience of more than 40 years, Riveria said.

"This is a dream match for any fan of female wrestling," he said.

Wrestlers will be available to visit with fans during the intermission, while Lawler is scheduled to be available for photos inside the ring, Riveria said.

Front-row tickets are $20 and general-admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Fort Smith Radio Group, 321 N. Greenwood Ave.
