JR's Blog: JR's WSB Radio Shows..Ariel Helwani..UFC Fight Night..Chyna in HOF?..2, new recipes..JR's Products at Axxess..Grilling Season

Cold, dreary day in Norman, Oklahoma and a far cry from the near 80 degree temps we had just a few days ago. Nice day to continue my March Madness overload. Random thoughts...
The All State Arena in Rosemont,Illinois will be the place to be Monday night. Tickets have been sold out for MNR there for a good while and apparently scalpers are having a field day. It's a loaded show as one would expect and being that its the last MNR before WM27 it should be loaded. I'm sitting my DVR to go about 30 minutes longer than normal just in case.
I don't expect to see a Raw, trend change whereby we see that much in ring wrestling but I do expect to hear plenty of verbiage from a variety of stars all leading to the Georgia Dome.
Having @TheRock on the show live will be fun and I'm anxious to see how Rock interacts with Miz and Cena. For those that don't think that the Rock can hold his own verbalizing OR getting physical in the ring, dream on.
The Undertaker and HHH will apparently go face to face which we know can be compelling if they don't even say one word to the other. I hope that this match is the show closer at WM27.
Lawler seemingly has lots to say re: his upcoming ass whipping of @michaelcole at WM27 but will he be given an opportunity to express himself fully on Raw w/o annoying interruptions?
Wrestlemania is a complex time for many talents. Some fret about either not being on the card or being thrown a bone to simply make an appearance ala a battle royal, etc. That's never been my personal philosophy. Being booked on Wrestlemania is an earned honor, a privilege, and not a performer's right.
Then there are those who are booked and who are not in what one would perceive as 'high profile bouts.' My suggest is to go out, maximize ones minutes, and do everything possible to turn heads and steal a small aspect of the show.
These non main event, Wrestlemania performers can look at their respective glasses as being half empty or, smarter yet, as being being half full.
Recipe #1....opened a can of pinto beans and poured them into a sauce pan and set stove on low. Seasoned with ground, black pepper and seasoned salt to taste. Added chopped onion and chopped green, yellow and red bell peppers. Finally, I added JR's Chipotle Ketchup to taste and allowed the concoction to simmer for several minutes until they nearly reached a boil. Stirred frequently. The results were awesome and they were a filling, healthy side that was essentially idiot proof.
I had an interesting exchange on Twitter this week with @arielhelwani where I was simply being or trying to be funny. Using "JR is getting angry" was simply a George Costanza rip off from Seinfeld. Nonetheless , the talented young MMA media member/reporter mentioned that he had distanced himself from pro wrestling which I responded as being smart. MMA purists notwithstanding the media in general will always have a certain, unfair mind you, pro wrestling bias. If Helwani wants to make it to the big time of MMA broadcasting or media work in general then NOT being a wrestling fan nowadays will likely help him.
I know without question that being associated with pro wrestling for so long and developing name identity in the genre did me few favors as it relates to other fields of endeavor. However, and I want this to be crystal clear, I have zero regrets and those that had or have a problem with my association in sports/entertainment or pro wrestling, whatever, need to get over it.
UFC Fight Night from Seattle was a better show in many aspects than was UFC 128 from Newark that I paid for. The Seattle crowd was red hot and it seemed that UFC production people mic'ed the crowd to where we at home could enjoy the live event experience. UFC has had a deficiency in mic'ing the crowd the past few years to where at times the announcers never have to raise their voices to be heard and Goldberg and Rogan are sitting Octagon side. I also personally felt that the announce team had a better night from stat to finish Saturday night on Spike than they had over the same time frame in Newark.
I also suggested that UFC needs to hire a big voiced, commercial voice over guy to handle the sponsor billboards, etc notwithstanding the voice over work for the video packages leading into the matches. This will take some of the burden off Goldberg and not allow him to get over exposed. This was NOT JR looking for work. I am NOT a voice over guy but I'm sure that Vegas if full of them.
Plus, I have a job.
Please, bottom feeders need to refrain from the use of F Bombs on Twitter. @JRsBBQ has over 115,000 followers which is awesome but a small handful feel that it's cool or macho to throw the F Bomb around like they were a tough guy lacking respect to others who may be reading the Tweets including women and children.
So Trish Stratus endorsed Chyna for the WWE HOF. That's Trish's opinion. I'm sure Chyna's name might come up some day. My thoughts on that matter is and will always remain that I felt it was wrong for Chyna to wrestle men on a regular basis and that her being the Intercontinental Champion was bad positioning. Does that mean that Chyna isn't WWE HOF worthy? That's not for me to speculate on as I am not in the decision making process of the WWE HOF.
Our JR's products will be fully stocked at Wrestlemania Axxess in Atlanta at the WWE Merchandise stand. No shipping charges either. Plus the plastic bottles should be travel friendly in checked baggage to ones final destination.
We should expect, arguably, the 2nd biggest inductee of this year's WWE HOF class to be announced Monday night in Chicago which should be approiate for multiple reasons.
Recipe #2....took some left over 'Simply Potatoes' and fried them with a little extra virgin olive oil. Added diced, sweet onion. Got them essentially done and then added three eggs. Put in a small amount of milk. Stirred well to scramble the eggs with the potatoes and onions. Seasoned with ground, black pepper, a hint of seasoned salt, paprika, and zero calorie, natural salsa (to taste). After all this mixture was allowed to cook for a few more minutes to make sure that it was done, I then added low fat, Pepper Jack Cheese, allowed it to melt and blend well into my crazy dish before I plated it and enjoyed what essentially was utilizing left overs. It was a big 'win.'
Check this out....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goISmdVhLrw. Its a snippet of my old WSB Radio Show that I did in the early 90's in Atlanta. My friend Dennis Brent has all these shows recorded and is contemplating marketing them as a set as I understand it. I'll keep you informed but it's some cool, nostalgic stuff with many name worthy guests and some entertaining callers.
Enjoyed doing the Pain Clinic radio show Saturday morning. A link to it is available if you look for it.
If fans travel to Atlanta for Wrestlemania 27 Week, why wouldn't they check out Abdullah's House of Chinese Food and Ribs? It's an experience that you will enjoy and the food is damn good.
Why fans keep prodding me for info on 'the Jeff Hardy situation' is beyond me. I've addressed this matter. I'm not in the loop. Solving this issue, if here is one, isn't my hill to die upon. I don't get paid to make those sorts of decisions in TNA. Once again I say that I wish TNA great success as many good people who I consider friends earn a living for their families there.
However, I still adhere to the management philosophy that if one can't solve a problem them one has to eliminate the problem. Case closed.
Fans that have extra Wrestlemania tickets won't have any trouble selling them in Atlanta. This is the toughest ticket internally to get of any Wrestlemania that I can recall.
If you attend Axxess, be sure to say hello Friday night at the THQ booth as we play the WWE All Stars video game and again on Saturday morning from 10-noon when King and I will be at the WWE HOF booth signing autographs for a couple of hours.
WWE All Stars is released next Tuesday March 29 and is going to hopefully be a big hit. For those of us that have spent many hours working on the project, we have a vested interest in this over the top, Arcade game that allows the player to book the greatest matches that never happened. Plus, I had a blast reuniting with the King again.
Grilling season is upon us and we hope that you will consider our products including our BBQ Sauces as a part of your grilling process. Plus, no one sells better Beef Jerky than us as it's custom made using only the eye of round and is seasoned the old school way with hickory smoke.
Remember that with virtually every order that you place with us that you will receive a FREE Koozie and a FREE autographed item. You always get more than you pay for with our packages.
http://www.wweshop.com has more inventory from JR's now in stock and they ship for us exclusively outside the USA. We do NOT ship outside the USA from this site.
Thanks for stopping by and follow more on Twitter @JRsBBQ.
