Edwards Demands Fans Take Him Seriously

Edwards Demands Fans Take Him Seriously

Posted: Feb 28th 2011 By: CMBurnham

Since making his debut in the wrestling world, Rudy Edwards has found it difficult to get the fans to believe him.

He doesn't set his goals small. In his first appearance for MSWA, he interrupted MSWA Mid-South Champion Johnny Z and announced that he was going to be the next member of Impact, Inc. After recovering from the laughter this comment inspired, Johnny suggested that Rudy return after he had completed puberty. This began the journey of Edwards as he embarked on match after match that ended in defeat for him. Losses to the likes of SWCW Tag Team Champion 3rd Rail and Bud Barnes. Teaming with Sean Stevens and losing to MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champions Greatness On Demand. All these losses take thier toll on a person's head.

The cracking point may have come a couple of weeks ago when Edwards faced off against the Canadian Red Devil. Unlike the other opponents who laughed and then proceded to beat Edwards into a pulp, the Devil tried to apply some logic to the situation. He asked Edwards why he wanted to be a member of Impact, Inc., calling them thugs and losers. No match with them was ever 1-on-1. It was usually 1-on-4. The Devil told Edwards that he had a lot of potential, but he needed to be pushed in the right direction. It looked for a moment like this heartfelt conversation might have had some success, but when the Devil turned to return the microphone to Milton Winkelman, Edwards attacked from behind. That tactic didn't help any and he was eventually forced to tap out to the Sharpshooter.

This past Sunday, the Devil took on SWCW Hardcore Champion Rick Russo. And once more, after a gruelling match, the Devil got the win with the Sharpshooter. But immediately after the match, Edwards arrived with L. J. McDaniels in tow and began attacking the Devil. After some 2-on-1 action, Edwards screamed at the Devil to "keep his nose out of other people's business".

Looks like Edwards is determined to make people respect him. And with a new manager by his side to provide input and advice, Edwards may be prepared to elevate his career soon, if he can get past the Canadian Red Devil first.
