Breaking Treyfabe: What, No Tooth Fairy 2?
Posted: Feb 20th 2011 By: CMBurnham
So by now everyone has marked out enough about the Rock hosting Wrestlemania and calling out Cena in the process, I fell asleep Monday and missed it all.
A friend asked me why I didn?t share the enthusiasm and there are some reasons:
- I?m predominately a fan of the heels
- I missed the Rock years- he was the game when I was either in the Navy or the early years of fatherhood.
My only real comment is that whatever tribal tattoo Mr. Johnson has on his chest now would go perfect with Mike Tyson?s face tat.
My predictions for tomorrow?s Elimination Chamber (which I will be missing due to seeing the Broken Social Scene concert which I highly recommend over nearly any pay per view out there) ?
Santino and Koslov continue their dominance of the tag team division with a win over Slater and Gabriel?hell I say give them the longest tag reign ever to truly drive home the point that tag team wrestling hasn?t mattered since The Eliminators, Dudley?s, Gangstas, and Pitbulls were all slugging it out in ECW.
Kofi Kingston to defeat Alberto Del Rio via disqualification. Del Rio?s destiny is to be world champ, not the IC champ. Expect his announcer to get caught interfering or something to that effect.
The Miz over Jerry Lawler. Don?t get me wrong, I liked the King during his Austin Idol feud/USWA days, back when for the briefest moment the USWA was solid ? but I don?t think the world wants an over the hill heavyweight champ. If they do give Lawler the belt expect it to be a quick drop back to the Miz ala Flair?s drops to Ronnie Garvin and David Von Erich. (Editor's note: Flair actually lost the NWA World Title to Kerry Von Erich for 2 1/ 2 weeks in May of 1984)
Smackdown Elimination Chamber ? I mean I?m confused who the champ is now that I missed Smackdown last night as well, is it Ziggler?s? I?m also confused because I thought Del Rio and Edge was a certified Wrestlemania match? At any rate, just let Edge win it so Del Rio can beat him at Mania please, thanks.
Raw Elimination Chamber ? I?d like to see Punk win this but perhaps this is a setup for?yawn?another Cena victory so he can headline a gimmick match at Wrestlemania (please no Rock as guest referee) ? against the Miz. Rock will do a heel turn at Wrestlemania and cause Cena to lose the match and we maybe, just maybe, will get a megaface vs megaface fued we haven?t seen since the Superpowers exploded?ok maybe we have I just have the Hogan/Savage match post Wrestlemania V on the brain after watching Hogan?s Unreleased series on demand?
At any rate, here?s to hoping for a guest blog recap of the Chamber from one of my staff writers on Monday or Tuesday?and stay tuned for Taker?s return this week as well as what will be a fun season of Tough Enough which I think starts on Tuesday?
I promise to start my dream match series next week, homework for my college classes missed during the snow storm have me on a bit of a backlog right now?.
