Caballero Forms Cadre; Looks To Future of ComPro

Caballero Forms Cadre; Looks To Future of ComPro

Posted: Dec 22nd 2010 By: CMBurnham

2010 has seen Stevie Caballero kind of step to the back of ComPro's ranks. Although he managed Richie Adams to the ComPro Title, that run was somewhat lessened by ComPro's reduction to monthly shows. Since leaving their former home at the Sheridan Avenue Christian Church, Caballero also engineered the signing of Sam Stackhouse (who turned on TAP Champion Shane Morbid, costing him an opportunity to regain the title from Adams) and also brought in impressive newcomer Chris Morrison. With these 3 young and hungry talents under his advice, Caballero hopes to lead them to great heights in the next few months.

Never one to hold back from expressing himself, Caballero strode to the ring at the beginning of this month's ComPro show with Richie Adams. He said that there were two travesties occurring at that moment. One was that Richie Adams didn't win the Oklahoma Stampede the previous month. That wouldn't have happened if Stevie had been present. The second, more criminal, travesty was that Richie didn't have a match scheduled this month. Caballero reminded everyone that Adams was a former ComPro champion and deserved better than what he was getting. Mike Two said that when people disappear (as Adams did after losing the ComPro Title back to Shane Morbid), they start over. He told Caballero that if he expected Adams to be back in the title picture, Adams needed to make an impact. Those were words that would come back to haunt the owner later.

Before intermission, Chris Morrison was scheduled to face The Canadian Red Devil in the first "First to the Finish" match in ComPro's history. Under the rules of this match, whichever star locked in his finishing move first would be considered the winner. For the Devil, it would be the Sharpshooter while Morrison would be looking for the Burning Dragon. The two had met two months previously in a Submission Match and in that contest, the Devil had come out victorious. While this wasn't quite the same match, it was very similar and CRD felt confident going in as he brought experience and the knowledge that he had forced Morrison to tap on one previous occasion.

What the Devil couldn't do anything about was interference in the form of Richie Adams, who ran in while Caballero distracted the referee. Adams DDTed the Devil as he was applying the Sharpshooter to Morrison. Morrison then locked the Burning Dragon onto the Devil and the referee was directed by Caballero to turn around and signal for the win. With Sam Stackhouse joining the festivities, a brief 3-on-1 beatdown of the Devil took place by Caballero's cadre before the Devil's body was unceremoniously dumped outside the ring. Caballero then loudly proclaimed that a new era of wrestling had entered ComPro as he and his charges stood triumphant in the ring.

Caballero intended to keep that roll of his going after intermission when he led Sam Stackhouse in a match against Jesus Rodriguez. Rodriguez was forced to play David to Stackhouse's Goliath and the presence of Caballero and Morrison at ringside didn't help matters much. But Rodriguez knew all about dirty tricks thanks to his past association with Ray Martinez and looked to be on the verge of pulling out a victory when again Richie Adams ran in to interfere in the match. He was quickly followed by CRD, who did his best to keep Richie from actually making a difference in the match. While those two handled each other, Chris Morrison attempted to get in and take over where Adams had been unable to succeed, but he was met by Rodriguez, who picked him up and spinebustered him on a prone Stackhouse. Rodriguez then pinned both men, gaining an important win for his career.

The initial loss will probably serve as a wake-up call that Caballero and his forces should be more vigilant when it comes to their strategy. But the infusion of new blood for Big Stevie to guide surely has the wheels in his devious mind churning overtime. While the success in ComPro may be on the rise, Stevie also faces potential problems in MWA as rumours are circling that his Tag Team Championship duo of TAP Oklahoma Heritage & ComPro Champion Dutch Hagen and Boris Saarikoski are not getting along. When Saarikoski lost to Angel 5th, ,Caballero was visably upset. Neither side has officially commented on the situation yet, but expect developments to announced at the next MWA event in Spavinaw on January 7.
