It's His Time!

It's His Time!

For a man who's only been in the business for less than two years, MWA Tag Team & TAP Oklahoma Heritage Champion Dutch Hagen planned his scheme brilliantly. Sure, he had help. But that was part of the genius, as he chose one of the men who would know his target intimately. And now, after waiting patiently and playing by the rules, Hagen believes it's his time to win the ComPro Title and become a Triple Crown Champion in Oklahoma.

The scheme was put into place in September when TAP & ComPro Champion Shane Morbid successfully defeated Lars Manderson. After the win, Richard Pierce arrived at ringside and stated that he was sure Shane missed him. While continuing to distract him, a masked man in a "Mr. Saturday Night" hoodie slid into the ring and attacked Morbid with a chair. He slammed the chair on Morbid's head, then put Morbid's hand into it and stomped on it, attempting to put Morbid out of action.

6 weeks later, a recovered Morbid faced Manderson again, but this time it was a Fans Bring the Weapons Match. This seemed to play into Morbid's background as he was a stellar Hardcore competitor in the early days of his career, capturing the SRPW Hardcore Title 5 times. And when Mike Iles was ejected by referee Mark Wilson after Iles tripped Morbid, Pierce was once again there. On this occassion, all he did was stand in the ring entrance and watch, but when Morbid had Manderson down for a pin, Pierce ran down and grabbed Wilson's leg, yanking him out of the ring. Pierce & Wilson then got into an arguement and the masked man again ran to the ring, putting Morbid's arm in a chair and slamming it into the corner. Manderson then locked in a submission move on the injured arm and Morbid was forced to submit. This brought ComPro owner Mike Two out and he immediately got in the face of the masked man, demanding to know why he was interfering in Morbid's matches. Pierce grabbed the microphone and simply replied that it was "his time". Mike Two then revealed that he had camera phone evidence of the masked man getting dressed in the parking lot. He insisted that Pierce reveal the identity of the masked man prior to the show on November 20 or he would tell the crowd himself because the fans deserved to know and wanted an explanation.

The ensuing three weeks saw no statements from Pierce or his mysterious masked charge. So when the ComPro event on November 20 began, Mike Two stormed to the ring and brought Morbid and Pierce out. Morbid quickly came to the ring and anticipated the answers to the mysterious attacks, but Pierce was more reluctant to step up and start talking. Mike Two reminded the crowd that Pierce's masked man had attacked Morbid twice and that he'd caught a glimpse of his face, enough for him to know the identity. Once again, he demanded that Pierce tell the crowd the identity of the individual. Pierce, knowing that he was in enemy territory, started to do so, but the lights went out and when they returned, the masked man was standing in the ring with a chair. He nailed Mike Two with the chair, then threw it at Morbid's head. Mike Two had to be helped to the back, but Morbid remained, shouting to his assailant (who had fled to the back) to come back. There was no response, but Morbid promised that he would find out when the time was right.

In the meantime, Morbid had a 5-on-5 Elimination match to prepare for as he, Legion 13, Tim Rockwell & The Canadian Luchadore took on the members of Excellence Personified. And even with the late arrival of Mike Iles, EP felt prepared for the event. Things started off looking good for the championship faction as they took out the Canadian Luchadore & Jesus Rodriguez, but Hagen quickly schoolboyed TAP Tag Team, ComPro Tag Team & MWA Champion Jack Legacy and eliminated him. Tim Rockwell, who had desperately wanted to get his hands on TAP Tag Team & ComPro Showtime champion Michael Barry, was DQed for refusing to abide by the referee's orders, making it 4 on 2. Hagen then small packaged TAP Tag Team, ComPro Tag Team & MWA MAX-Division Champion Dustin Heritage and Lars Manderson was removed by Shane Morbid after a devestating Leroy Jenkins clothesline. This left TAP Tag Team & ComPro Oklahoma X Division Champion Se7en. Se7en could see that he had no chance on his own and even went so far as to try and tag Mike Iles into the match. After stalling repeatedly, "The Norcal Shooter" was unable to escape and was schoolboyed by Morbid for the win.

Hagen & Morbid stood proud in the ring when Mike Two made a surprising return to the ring, holding an ice pack to his head and dragging Richard Pierce with him. Mike shoved Pierce into the ring and after entering the ring himself, immediately turned to Hagen and asked him why he had attacked Morbid. The crowd said stunned and Hagen had no response as Morbid turned to face him, except to shrug his shoulders and smile knowingly. Hagen then kicked Shane in the midsection and delivered a Dutch Oven to an exhausted Morbid, once again reiterating the idea that it was "his time". Mike Two, outraged over the personal attack and embarrasment, was about to suspend Hagen for his actions, but Hagen kicked the ComPro owner and gave him a powerbomb, rendering him unconscious. Pierce then told the crowd that he was taking Hagen to the top because it was "his time".

That journey to the top culminated in the Oklahoma Stampede, where 23 entrants would compete in a Gauntlet Battle Royal and the winner would receive a ComPro Title shot at Night of Champions in December. Hagen entered at #16, far enough down the card that he didn't have to waste a lot of energy in eliminations. The last 3 men in the ring were The Canadian Red Devil, Richie Adams and Hagen. But Chris Morrison, who had been eliminated by the Devil, returned to the ring with a chair and slammed it into the Devil. As Adams struggled to get the weakened masked man over the top, Hagen initially tried to assist Adams, then saw an opportunity and muscled both men over the top.

As he celebrated with Pierce, Hagen saw the opportunity in front of him. Not only could he capture the ComPro Title, but he could again show his superiority to Shane Morbid. In March, Hagen (who at that time had Pierce in his corner) defeated Morbid for the TAP Oklahoma Heritage Title. It was a Match of the Year candidate and a rare loss for Morbid, which he blamed on Pierce, promptly firing him. While it was satisfying to have the title, Hagen was continually frustrated by never receiving a ComPro Title match despite being one of the most talented and physical competitors on the ComPro roster. And that's how Pierce saw the opportunity to avenge Morbid's actions. He could orchestrate Morbid's injury, humiliation and eventual loss. All that was running through Hagen's head as Morbid ran to the ring and immediately the two superstars began pummelling each other, forcing the locker room to be emptied to restrain them. Repeatedly, both men broke free and met in the middle fists flying. With Mike Two unconscious, C. M. Burnham tried to control the situation, ordering both men to control themselves and wait until next month. But the chants of "Let them fight!" from the crowd only egged the situation on. Finally, things came under control and Hagen left the ring area, knowing that he would get his opportunity on December 18. Both men know each other well and have no problem pushing each other to the limits. In 3 weeks, they'll meet again for the most prestigious title in ComPro. One man will leave the champion. Whose time will it be?
