Posted: Oct 15th 2006 By: CMBurnham

1.Starts the show at 10:02AM with the usual
"Don't Go Messin' With A Country Boy".

2.Hillbilly says to get off the hat, flat off the coats & get in the corner because he's hoping to have a super show. He says it's starting to get cooler in Mud Lick, Kentucky, says Spike's looking good in the corner & says later on the show, he'll have Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.

3.Plays Merle Haggard's "I Take A Lot Of Pride In What I Am", Hulk Hogan's Hillbilly Jim promo, Steve Earle's "Copperhead Road" & ZZ Top's "Cheap Sunglasses".

4.Hillbilly says that's classic ZZ Top & says he's hearing that he may have ZZ Top on next week's show: www.zztop.com & he'll let you know about that soon. He plugs his email hillbillyjim@sirius-radio.com , his toll free request line 877-33-SIRIUS & press #63
& his website www.hillbillyjim.com . He says he saw Wyonna recently on the David Letterman show, but here you'll hear her sing with her Mom Naomi.

5.Plays The Judds' "Why Not Me", Old 97's
"Barrier Reef" & Pat Haney's "Come On Back To Bowling Green & Marry Me".

6.Hillbilly says he recently had dinner with Pat & says Pat's told him that he listens to his show. He says he's hoping to be on the next Road To Wrestlemania tour next year,
then plugs John Cena's movie "The Marine": www.themarinemovie.com & says you should go out & see it.

7.Plays Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising", Carlene Carter's "I've Always
Been Crazy" & Hank Williams III's "Crazed Country Rebel".

8.Hillbilly says we're all a bunch of crazed country rebels on the show & says he's got
the edge. He says it don't matter if you're in a car, train or a choo choo train, if it's playing something that you like, it's something that you'd like to hear. He says Uncle Percy Mandoberg will be on later to give us a hunting & fishing update & says in the 70's, when this band [The Eagles] was heard on the radio, it was amazing.

9.Plays The Eagles' "Life In The Fast Lane", Carl Perkins' "Where The Rio De Rosa Flows", David Allan Coe's "Standing Too Close To The Flame" & Tanya Tucker's "Would You Lay With Me".

10.Hillbilly says "Would You Lay With Me" is a DAC song & of course he played a DAC song before Tanya. He says he's rolling & perculating on his show, says after Fred Imus' show he likes to perculate his show because after him is Cowboy Jack Clement's show: www.sirius.com/outlawcountry . He says in Alabama they put out great vocalists & says this guy [Vern Gosdin] is from Alabama who's had great hits in the 80's.

11.Plays Vern Gosdin's "Chisled In Stone", Warren Zevon's "Lawyers, Guns & Money",
Hank Williams Jr.'s Hillbilly Jim promo, Hank Williams Jr.'s "If Heaven Ain't A Lot Like Dixie" & The Highwaymen's "It Is What It Is".

12.Hillbilly says they're exactly right when it is what it is, says he's feeling good & likes it when it gets cooler. He then talks about something that's been bothering him when he read that at the Minneapolis Airport, the cabbies are having a culture clash with the people over there. He says many of the cabbies are muslims & aren't picking up any of the customers that come out of the airport with some booze that they bought either at the [what sounded like] "Duty Free" or other places, because they claim it's against their religion & they don't wanna do it. He says at the same time, the airport's giving them a special thing that they put on their cabs where they [the drivers] flick it on & you'll see that they're not the type of guys that'll carry it for you & move on.

Hillbilly says that they don't wanna do that because they claim it'll make them go back at the end of the line & it'll be 3 hours before they come back to pick up the thing. He says he's sorry about that & says they need to see that this is America & you can't come here & impose your religious beliefs upon others & expect others to like it. He says you have to look at those things, says those same guys that they can't pick you up because you have a bottle or gift of liquor &
says those are the same guys that if they own a store in the neighborhood, they won't mind selling you a 6 pack, wine or ham & says he don't understand that.

Hillbilly feels that America needs to put their foot down on this, says that's his opinion & how he feels & won't spend lots of time on it. He says he gets fed up by hearing those things at times & says the 1 thing he don't get fed up with, is The Rolling Stones. He says he saw the other night that they played in Chicago up in Soldier Field, says Mick Jagger had a trench coat on him because it was cold there. He says it didn't matter to Mick because he ran a track meet in there while Keith [Richards] was trying to stay warm & Ron Wood had a scarf around his neck. He says Mick with his long trench coat was lightening up in Chicago like The Rolling Stones do. He
wonders as to how long those guys will go on & says they'll go on forever on his show.

13.Plays The Rolling Stones' "High & Dry", Lucinda Williams' "Can't Let Go", Red Foley's "Hot Rod Race" & Johnny Bond's "Hot Rod Lincoln".

14.Hillbilly says he had to play "Hot Rod Lincoln" because he's having his Lincoln being worked on & until he gets it back, Percy lend him a car & says after the break, he'll have Percy on the phone. He says if you like novelty songs, this 1 you'll like & it's by "The Man In Black" which's usually Johnny Cash, but this is Alamo Jones.

15.Plays Alamo Jones' "We're All Here", Gary Stewart's "She's Actin' Single [I'm Drinkin' Double]", Dallas Wayne's Americana Extravaganza promo for tonight [10/14] at 10PM EST, John Anderson's "Bend It Until It Breaks" & Robert Earl Keen's "Jesse With The Long Hair Hangin' Down".

16.Hillbilly again plugs his email & toll free request line & introduces Uncle Percy
Mandoberg [via phone]. Percy says it's a full time job having fun, says Hillbilly just missed "The Commander" who was talking to him about Texas quail hunting & both are enjoying the nip in the Fall over there. Hillbilly says he was telling his son Spike that he was feeling good since the weather's changed & he's excited as to what's going on. He asks Percy as to what's going on in the hunting & fishing world not only in Kentucky, but anywhere he wants to talk about. Percy says he thought he bored everyone last week by just talking about Kentucky, so he called some of his contacts nationwide to find out what's going on in other parts of the world.

Percy says he talked to some nice folks in Washington about their coogar season coming up & says their ain't nothing fun than chasing coogars across the mountains but you have to be in good shape to do that. He says that season starts 12/1 & ends on 3/31 & says he's looking forward to making the trip down there for that season. He says the guys that he spoke with hooked him up with guys in Nevada & asks Hillbilly if he knows as to how they hunt ducks over
there. Hillbilly says no & Percy says they don't use shotguns but with falcons, Hillbilly says that sounds like something from the 12th century & Percy says someone who's smart enough to train 1 bird to get another & bring them back to them, his hat's off to them.

Percy says that's happening now, says he's talked to folks in Carson City, Nevada who's been getting several [yep, what sounds like] "malards" & a few pintails there. He says that sounds a bit early for him having pintail ducks that far south, but they've been doing well with it. He says he called his old buddy "The Doctor" up in Saskatchewan [in Canada] who told Percy that the geese are almost being beaten to death in the decoys & says you can't keep the geese from coming in there. He says he was told that it got real cold & was like 16 degrees this morning, says they're working on the ducks & geese & says the good numbers are [yep, what sounds like]
"sharptail grass" up there this year.

Percy tells Hillbilly that there's lots of things going on worldwide, Hillbilly says this country's great for the hunting & fishing & says we got a wonderful country. He says he tells people that if you haven't seen America, you've seen nowhere & people are always telling him that they want to go somewhere international. He says this is a big, wonderful country & says you need to go out & explore, Percy says he agrees & quotes comedian Bill Cosby by saying "It's God's garden & we need to enjoy it'. Hillbilly tells Percy that he'll play him a song & when they return, he'll talk to him about some fitness stuff.

17.Plays The Allman Brothers Band's "Melissa", Moe Bandy & Joe Stampley's "Just Good Ol' Boys" & Chris Knight's "Highway Junkie".

18.Hillbilly says Knight sounded like he had 100 cups of coffee & 500 cigarettes, asks Percy if that sounds like some of the boys from the pool room & Percy says yes. Hillbilly tells Percy that he's quite an outdoorsman & has been all his life & raised his family to be that way. He says
Percy knows that it takes lots of stamina & endurance to get out there & enjoy what nature's providing us. Percy says that's true, says there's nothing that takes away a hunting or fishing trip then gasping for breath, not moving fast enough to get up there with the dogs or whatever it might be. Hillbilly tells Percy that last week he started a segment called "Hillbilly Jim's Helpful Health Hints".

Hillbilly asks Percy to help him out on this 1 because he saw something that was encouraging to him & says it was the Tennessee Governor [Phil] Bredesen that launched a new fitness campaign. He says it's called the "Get Fit TN" program: www.GetFitTN.com & it'll be promoted by former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George: www.eddiegeorge.com . He says they'll try to help by reducing type 2 diabetes & says Tennessee's in the top 5 for type 2 diabetes. He thinks if they can get more people to get out there, excerise & do more things & just enjoy the outdoors, then they'll be getting their excerise & not be knowing it.

Percy agrees but feels you don't have to get out there, says he enjoys working out & is not in Hillbilly's class, says a person can get out & get some fresh air & says they can hunt, fish, do gardenwork & other things. He says the added benefit's that you'd get the best food that there is, Hillbilly asks Percy to talk about a healthful meal that fans can make with some nice food that
nature provides. Percy says 1 of the things that he's learned over the years is that Grandma always cooked everything in lard. He says even though it tasted good at the time, they don't do that anymore & says he's stumbled across & found a way to make a good salad that even Ma enjoys.

Percy says it's light, healthy, it's good for everyone & says it's called a "Fried Fesant Salad" & describes on how to make it:

1.Slice the fesant, breast & things real deep & thin on it.

2.Fry it in olive oil with barely a little flour on it.

3.Whatever kind of salad you like whether it be fieldgreens or romaine lettuce, he says he uses a blackberry vinegarette. He says there's also rasberry vinegarette that you can use to put as dressing over it. He says it's got no calories, says you can eat it till you can't eat it anymore & said it's good
stuff.

Hillbilly tells Percy that when he mentioned the word "fried", Spike slobbered & drolled on his beard & Percy asks if Spike's slobbering because of the fried food or due to kissing that fish before he took the hook out of it. Hillbilly says Spike's put some Vicks on that wound, says it's been smelling kinda funny in the studio & says Spike's something else. He thanks Percy for coming on the show, again mentions that his hot rod Lincoln went down & Percy lend him a
fine, almost new '67 Buick that he's been letting him drive. He says the car's nice but drinks lots of gas & asks if Percy knew that these '67 cars drink lots of fuel & Percy tells him that there's some stuff in jugs that's in the back [of the car] that he can put in the gas tank. He asks Percy if he can return in a week or so, Percy says yes & Hillbilly says he'll play a Tony Stampley song for Percy.

19.Plays Tony Stampley's "Bad Girl [Looking For A Good Time]", Ernest Tubb's "Drivin' Nails In My Coffin", Rodney Crowell's Hillbilly Jim promo, Rodney Crowell's "Fate's Right Hand" & Merle Haggard's "Branded Man".

20.Hillbilly says "Branded Man" is 1 of the greatest Merle Haggard songs of all time, says he's feeling the blues right now & says if you go on the Kentucky Blues site: www.kyblues.com , you'll see Chris Cain: www.chriscain.cc on there & says he'll be having him on his show soon.

21.Plays Little Milton's "Grits Ain't Groceries", Dusty Springfield's "Son Of A Preacher Man", Hank Williams' "I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive" & Steve Earle's "Home To Houston".

22.Hillbilly says he's got a new segment on his show called "Southern Rock Picks Of The
Week" & says after the break, he'll be talking about someone that's toured with people like Charlie Daniels & others.

23.Plays Tom Petty's "Down South", Jimmy Martin's "Sunny Side Of The Mountain", Wayne Hancock's Outlaw Country promo, Wayne Hancock's "Johnny Law" & The Charlie Daniels Band's "Wichita Jail".

24.Hillbilly says last week he had Jimmy Hart on the show who told him that Charlie Daniels said hi to Hillbilly & Hillbilly gives a shout out back to Charlie Daniels. He says it's time for his " Southern Rock Picks Of The Week" & says it's about Tommy Crain & The Crosstown Allstars:
www.crosstownallstars.com . He says for over 2 decades Tommy's worked with Charlie Daniels, has wrote songs & performed on over 20 of Charlie's albums. He says Tommy was on the 1 that won a Grammy with "The Devil Went Down To Georgia", says he's quite a guitar picker &
has been on stage with many guys & bands.

Hillbilly says if he started naming them he'll be there all day & mentions Cheap Trick, John Lee Hooker, Little Feat, Mountain, Georgia Satellites, Kings Of The Ellis, Albert Collins, Luther Ingram, Roy Bucannan & The Marshall Tucker Band just to name a few. He says Tommy has his own thing going with the Allstars, says they're cooking & loves them so much & says he'll
play a tune by them & hopes you like it. He again plugs his email & asks you to email him if whether or not you like this segment.

25.Plays Tommy Crain & The Crosstown Allstars' "Find Another Lover", Malcolm Yelvington & The Star Rhythm Boys' "Drinkin' Wine Spo Dee-O-Dee", Buck Owens' "Sam's Place" & Rosie Flores' "Hot Dog".

26.Hillbilly says "Hot Dog" is a Buck Owens tune, says he was at Sturgis last Summer during the "Rock N Rally" event & had a good time hanging out with everyone there. He says recently he saw the guys from the Orange County Choppers who's got a tour called "OCC In America":
www.occinamerica.com . He says he got to hang out with the Tunnel Boys who're nice bunch of cats, says it's good to see these guys do there thing, get their dues & money for it. He says when you think about Harley Davidson, it's a name & band that no one overlooks & says HD's doing something that they've never done before & that's getting into food business with beef jerky's

Hillbilly says they've never lended either their name or logo before & now they'll be doing it, he says HD's saying it's a perfect fit for the company because if you're on the go & out there riding, it's a perfect snack for it. He says it'll cost $6.00 at grocery stores & it'll debut either late this year or early next year. He says they'll team with ConAgra & it'll be a real good thing & for
those that don't know, it's a $2.7 million dollar industry & asks Spike as to how can both of them get into something like that. He says he'll now play a song by a guy [Elvis Presley] that's been seen on many motorcycles because we've seen him in many movies like "Roustabout" & says when he was a kid, he'd see this guy ride those big ol' Harleys.

27.Plays Elvis Presley's "In The Ghetto", Junior Brown's "Guitar Man", Tom Russell's "Gallo Del Cielo", the same Dallas Wayne’s Americana Extravaganza promo for tonight [10/14] at 10PM EST & Georgia Satellites' "Keep Your Hands To Yourself".

28.Hillbilly says after the break he'll have Greg Valentine in the studio, says Greg's dad Johnny Valentine had a 3 decade career but it ended too soon because he got crippled in a plane crash, which's also the same flight that Ric Flair was in [when his back got injured & thought his career was over at the time] & says he'll talk with Greg more about his dad when he gets here. He says you can only get this next record ["God Bless America"] by downloading it off of this guy's site
[ www.jamesmcmurtry.com]. He says the guy's a songwriter & delivers it & asks as to
how can you not wanna check this tune out.

29.Plays James McMurtry's "God Bless America", Black Oak Arkansas' "Lord Have Mercy On My Soul" & Joe Ely's "Dallas"

30.Hillbilly again plugs his email & toll free request line & introduced Greg "The Hammer" Valentine [via phone]: www.gregvalentine.newpathproductions.com . Greg asks as to what ch. # on Sirius this interview's on, Hillbilly tells him it's "Outlaw 63" & Greg says he's had people call him because they wanna hear the show. He asks Hillbilly if he's live, Hillbilly says yes & asks Greg if he's in Florida & Greg says yes & then tells Greg the Saturday & Sunday schedule that the show's on because if his friends miss it on Saturday, they'll catch the Sunday replay. Greg says he's doing great, says he saw Hillbilly at a couple of Wrestlemanias & hasn't talk to him alot.

Greg says he's blessed, his health's great, has a beautiful & fabulous wife & a wonderful Florida home. He says he's still involved in wrestling by having it "on the side deal" [aka the indy scene] & can't get it out of his blood. Hillbilly says Greg's the guy that shows what the business should be today, says he still looks the same as ever & says if you wanna contact Greg for appearances or whatever, call 513-251-3576 & ask for John Mills who's handles Greg's
bookings [NOTE FROM JEFF:you can also email at Cncnntmills@aol.com ]. He tells Greg that he can still get in there & work with the best of them, says he don't look like he's change & says he's proud of him because lots of guys don't turn out so good.

Greg says he's 2nd generation & his dad Johnny Valentine who was a big star in his own right, told him that if he wants to stay in the business & want it to be your career, you don't sell out for the big pop or jump on the floor so the fans react to it. He says his dad also told him to learn how to wrestle, get in their & work & entertain but don't do crazy, high risk moves & you'll last a long time & says he's lasted 35 years. Hillbilly tells Greg that before he came on, he was talking about his dad having a 3 decade career & it would've been longer if it hadn't been for the accident. He says Greg's dad was 1 of the man's men of the business, says people would tell him that Johnny was a big strapping man that began in '47.

Hillbilly says he remembers people talking about Johnny's feuds with Bobo Brazil, Harley Race, Lou Thesz, Wahoo McDaniel & says Johnny was something else. He says he gave Greg the right advice & asked him about his early years in the business. Greg says he's going back to 3/1970 which's when he 1st started with the Hart family with Stu & the "dungeon" in Calgery,
Alberta, Canada. He says it was 30 below 0 with snow up to your "you know what", says Stu ran around with his tshirt & didn't wear shoes & says he himself caught a mouth fungus & his feet almost fell off & says it was real good training. Hillbilly says he himself had the same thing with Stu, says he'll talk more about that after the break & asks Greg if he likes Jerry Lee Lewis. Greg says yes & says he heard about him & Kid Rock, Hillbilly says he'll now play 1 by Jerry & John Fogerty.

31.Plays Jerry Lee Lewis & John Fogerty's "Travelin' Band", Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson's "Nowhere Road".

32.Hillbilly asks Greg if he's got a Willie Nelson connection, Greg says his brother-in-law the Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs has the big connection with Willie & says because of that, he got to know Willie also. He says he sat on the [Willie Nelson tour] bus & had a happy time with them & says Willie's a big wrestling fan, a great guy & an outlaw. Hillbilly says that's true, says Willie's helped many people in this country & says that's why this country's so good. He says he feels so blessed to have had the [wrestling] career that he had & says 1 of the big things in his life was knowing cats like Greg. He says Greg's always been a 1st class act & says he tells everyone that if they wanna know on how to act, behave & work in the ring, just watch Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.

Greg says thanks for the great compliment, says he always thought his dad was a great trainer, says he was serious & not like Sirius satellite radio. He says he was devoted & wanted every person out there to believe as to what was going on in the ring whether they believed the match before or after him. He says when fans left, they knew that he gave his all & says he had some
great opponents. He says the saying's that you're only as good as your opponent & says that's true, because if he had a lousy opponent he got rid of him quick so he wouldn't make Greg look bad. Hillbilly asks him as to who was 1 of his toughest opponents, Greg says it was Wahoo
McDaniels & Hillbilly says Wahoo was a tough legend & says the Chief was rough.

Greg then mentions "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin was also tough & says the man that he had the most success with, made the most money with & loves him with all his heart, is his arch rival Tito Santana. He says when he thinks about Tito, he has to mention another guy which's "Rowdy" Roddy Piper with their dog collar match that they had [at Starrcade '83]. Hillbilly
says that was some of those NWA days in the Carolinas, Greg says yes & says this was before all of them migrated into the WWF. Hillbilly says Greg had an 8 to 10 year run in WWF, Greg says it was longer than that because he went back & forth from NWA to WWF.

Greg says it started in '79 & it ended in '94, Hillbilly says Greg's talking about the Tito Santana matches & says like Greg, Tito's also a WWE Hall Of Famer & should've been on the 1st ballots, but both are in now. He says to this day his friends still talk to him about those legendary matches that Greg & Tito had at MSG, says they were brutal & those chopping matches were amazing. Greg says thanks & says they're out on DVD that WWE put out, mentions a lumberjack match that he had & says Hillbilly might've been 1 of the lumberjacks & Hillbilly says he was. He mentions JYD, King Kong Bundy & others were around the ring as well as Snuka. He mentions his MSG match vs Tito was great, says he ain't bragging about himself but can't believe it when he watches them.

Hillbilly says Greg don't have to brag because history brags for you, says it's all out there & his legend's sealed. He says if you wanna get a taste of Greg, he still goes to [indy] shows, still does things for WWE from time to time & mentions Greg being big on the indy circuit. He again plugs Greg's booking #, says folks love seeing Greg & tells him that when he sees him, it
takes him back to the 80's. He says he's proud of him & he's glad he didn't change a bit, Greg says the only thing [that's changed] is that his hair's a little bit thicker & he looks a little younger. Hillbilly says Greg's found the Fountain Of Youth & tells him to hold on until after he's done playing these songs.

33.Plays Tompall & The Glaser Brothers' "Lovin' Her Was Easier", & The Marshall Tucker Band's "Fire On The Mountain".

34.Hillbilly again the time's gone by so fast, says he may have ZZ Top on next week's show, then asks Greg as to how he feels about the way wrestling has changed & what it is today as compared to the 80's. Greg says their day was the heyday when wrestling made the big time, says wrestling became the household word in the 80's & you can't go back to it & says that's the
biggest heyday of them all. He says he really don't care for the [WWE] product they have now, says he sees some good wrestling matches but they need to go back to the basics because wrestling will sell itself. He says it's just good wrestling without crazy storylines & all the crazyness that goes on.

Greg says he sounds like he's repeating himself but he's old school & knows that if they see a good wrestling match, fans will come back & see it again. He says you can't kill the wrestling product even with the crazy stuff & lots of parents don't want their kids watching it & says we need to go back to old school wrestling. Hillbilly says he believes that they need to get the job
done in the ring, says there should be more in the ring because he hears people complaining that when they watch or go to the shows, there's more gaga going on then actual wrestling. He says the marquee says wrestling & it has to get done in the ring & says that's why men like Greg who gets out there & do the match like it ought to be done & entertain the people, because
that's what the people come for.

Greg says when you go out to the ring, you don't grab the mike & start doing an interview [promo], then another guy does an interview & then they do a silly match that goes 2 or 3 minutes. He says when you get in the ring, that's when the talks should stop, the [ring] announcer mentions your name, you take your robe off & then start fighting. Hillbilly says that's exactly what he tells people because if anyone wants to know on how the business should be run from a wrestlers prospective, they need to watch matches of Greg, Harley Race & others that knew what they were doing in the ring & got it done in the ring. He says you didn't need extra bells & whistles, it was all about what happens in the squared circle when the bell rung.

Hillbilly says no one's done it better then Greg & says he's happy that they put Greg in the WWE Hall Of Fame. Greg thanks Hillbilly & says he ain't putting WWE down, says it's Vince McMahon that made wrestling what it is & made it a household word. He says McMahon made it mainstream & God bless him for that, but says if they let him run the show he'd keep it all serious wrestling. He says that's gonna help get it back to where it was in the heyday of him & Hillbilly went thru in '85 & '86 & again says that was the heyday. He says it can come back to those glory days if you keep it serious.

Hillbilly says he's right & agrees with him 100% & says it needs to back to it. He asks Greg to promise him that if he can come into the studio & spend more time with him in the next couple of months. He says he knows Greg travels alot, says he'd love to invite him back & loves seeing him anytime. Greg says yes & says hi to the following people:The Moran Clan, his wife Julie Moran, Vicky, Nancy, Vicky III, Junior, JR [not Jim Ross] & AJ [not AJ Styles]. He says these
are all his people, says he'll be coming up & visit everyone there & then he'll come on Hillbilly's show. Hillbilly says he's had such a wonderful visit with Greg today & again plugs Greg's booking #.

Hillbilly tells Greg to hold on because he needs to make way for Clement's show that follows his & says he appreciates him being on the show. Greg says he loves him, Hillbilly says he loves him too & says before he leaves, he'll play some tunes for you & he'll be right back.

35.Plays John Lee Hooker's "Boogie Chillen', ZZ Top's "La Grange" & Hank Williams Jr.'s
"Family Tradition".

36.Hillbilly says it felt like a family tradition on the show, says Valentine was amazing & was happy for him to come on. He again says Clement's show follows his, thanks Spike & his producer Steve Popavich Jr. He says the time goes by so fast, says he ain't here for a long time, he's here for a good time & he's had a great time today. He again says he hopes to have ZZ Top on next week's show & says he'll see you next week.

37.Ends with Hank Williams' "Howlin At The Moon" & show ends at 2:04PM.
