How Low Will Brad Michaels Sink?
Posted: Oct 11th 2006 By: CMBurnham
It seems that "Bad" Brad Michaels doesn't take betrayal well and he certainly believes that MSWA Mid-South & IZW Impact Division Champion Ryan Davidson has crossed him. Michaels has gone to great lengths to make his point understood and take that Mid-South Title from Ryan in the process.
Davidson had been a part of the Old School Assassins since the beginning of 2006, but that association fell apart near the beginning of the summer. Davidson drew the attention of Michaels when he won the MSWA Mid-South Title from OSA member Angel Williams in June. Since that time, he's fended off the challenges of Al Farat, 3rd Rail, Draven Cross and OSA member (and IZW Cruiserweight Champion) John O'Malley. But through all of this, Brad Michaels has been biding his time, making his presence known. While he has yet to receive an official title match, it hasn't prevented him from using underhanded tactics to try and frustrate Davidson.
On Sep 29, after Davidson defeated John O'Malley while Michaels was at ringside, Michaels snuck into the ring and up behind Davidson to prove that the Mid-South Champion could never be sure where he might be coming from. Then last Sunday, Davidson was set to face the challenge of Mr Mid-South 2, a new masked wrestler who made his debut on September 29. As the match went on, part of Mr. Mid-South's ring attire came loose, revealing Brad Michaels' wardrobe and, after the refereee was knocked out, Davidson ripped off the mask revealing Michaels. The two enemies then battled to the back, resulting in a double count-out.
The situation wasn't over between them, though, as right before the main event that afternoon, a chair came hurtling out of the dressing room and Michaels & Davidson returned to the ring, battling all the way. The rest of the locker room emptied and attempted to seperate the two, although they fought with everything they could. More chairs were hurled in the direction of the locker room as Michaels chose to retreat now and wait for another day to challenge Davidson for the title.
Michaels and Davidson are both regular competitors in IZW, although they have yet to cross each others' paths down in Lawton. Davidson has spent most of this year embattled with another former Old School Assassin, this time Tyler Bateman, over the Impact Division Title, whic he gained by winning a Best-of-5 Series in September. Michaels, meanwhile, has joined Impact, Inc and somehow convinced Gary Tool to turn against Brandon Bishop at their last show. While these issues have kept these 2 competitors away from each other, it does not mean that a future conflict between them is out of the question anywhere in central or southern Oklahoma.
