Red Out, P.I.N.K. In! New Canada Forced to Disband!

Since 2003, the single most dominant faction in TPW was New Canada and for 3 years the power they held grew so great that it looked as if the only thing that could destroy them was themselves. But that never happened, despite some tense moments in the group. Instead, Ne Canada's reign at the top of the mountain was brought down by members of P.I.N.K. Nation, as they continued their ascent to the top of yet another northeast Oklahoma wrestling federation.

The story of New Canada begins with Jon Davis, former head referee in OCW. Davis sided with Northern Threat (then made up of Luc Lapointe & Dexter Hardaway) to assist them in some tag team situations. After Lapointe left OCW, Davis continued to operate as Dexter's advisor before Dexter's departure for SRPW. This left Davis on his own. He was not allowed to referee anymore due to his obvious bias in the ring. So instead, he used his newfound managerial prowess to bring in a newcomer at the beginning of TPW, that being the Canadian Luchadore. Davis & the Luchadore would target Justin Lee and for the first 3 months of TPW, that was the top feud in the company. Davis also turned AWOL against his Casualties of War partner Grenade, bringing an end to that great faction as well. With the Luchadore and AWOL as his charges, Dr. Jon Davis proceded to work his way through the competition in TPW, even going so far as to train himself as wrestler. He guided AWOL to the TPW Oklahoma Title, taking it from Sonny C. And then, in 2004, he grabbed gold for himself by defeating Romero Contreras for the TPW Title. This would be the first of many meetings between Romero and Davis, a series that Romero would gain most of the wins in, but Davis would always gain the gold.

One week after losing the TPW Title to Butch Dalton, Jon Davis rebounded by teaming with AWOL to win the TPW Tag Team Title. Not only did they defeat Sexy Bologna for those titles, but they even forced Anthony Jackson into a temporary retirement due to a pre-match stipulation. Davis & AWOL would go on to become the longest reigning tag team champions in Oklahoma history, holding those titles from May 21, 2004 until July 12, 2005, when all TPW Champions were stripped due to a change in ownership. They successfully defended against the likes of The Forsaken, The Certified Public Assassins & Brian Lakewood & Butch Dalton. But after losing the titles to the Forsaken, they never emerged as top contenders again and began to focus more on singles titles.

In mid-2005, New Canada added another member to their fold in the Canadian Red Devil (formerly Devil Man) and he brought success in the Light Heavyweight division, something that seemed to elude the Canadian Luchador. The Devil defeated Mitch Carter for the vacant TPW Light Heavyweight Title Aug, 2005 and would hold that title April 8, 2006 when he was dethroned by Michael York in York's first title victory.

With all this success in their history, it seemed like New Canada would continue on to greatness in ComPro, but the seeds of dissension were planted towards the end of TPW as New Canada split into 2 factions. Although a Civil War seemed to be brewing, it appeared that by the time that ComPro began, New Canada had solved their issues. But perhaps that wasn't the case. Jon Davis has been absent from the ComPro shows and was not there to guide his faction into combat against the newly arrived P.I.N.K. Nation on Saturday. Only 3 members of the Nation were present and technically, only 2 members competed in the match (Jack Dalton never tagged in), but New Canada found themselves dominated and decimated by the end of the match. Ultimately, the entire blame seems to be laid at the hands of the Canadian Luchadore, as he forced a tag into the match when his partner AWOL had their opponents reeling, but the Luchador was unable to keep up that momentum and ended up being pinned forcing the end of the Canadian faction.

The various members of New Canada have not commented publicly on the end of their time together, but at least one member has come out of the situation in a positive situation. AWOL teamed with Overdose and joined the House of Strange to win the AACW Tag Team Titles from Luc Lapointe & P.I.N.K. Nation member Beau Dalton the week before these events. As for the other 3 members, while they cannot team together anymore, they still represent a threat to any wrestler or title they choose to focus on. Meanwhile, P.I.N.K. Nation chalks up another win in its march to dominance in ComPro. And no faction appears to be able to stand in their way.
