It's good to be home without having to spend a night or two in the hospital. Thanks to all for their positive thoughts and prayers. They are and will always be much appreciated.
My heart procedure has come and gone without having to undergo surgery to place a stent in a heart artery. Once the doctor went through my groin and up the femoral artery to take a look at my heart he discovered that there was only a 20% blockage in three spots which was not a reason for concern. People of my age group, I'm 58, most of the time have some calcium build up in their arteries. I am not in a high risk group and actually have a very healthy heart according to my cardiologist. My heart had improved greatly since it was last throughly examined in 2006. I credit that to weight loss and increased, regular exercise. With that said, I will begin hitting the gym again next week which will allow the puncture in my groin time to heal. The soreness in my groin is my only area of concern and that matter will heal in a few days. I was very blessed to receive the verdict that I did.
We had a great time in Dallas, an OU win over arch rival Texas always makes the trip a little better, especially when catching up with so many WWE friends who were staying at the same hotel as my wife and I. Plus, several WWE people attended the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl. I watched the game from my customary sideline position on the Oklahoma side of the field with John Laurinaitis and Kevin Dunn. Mark Henry, dressed in a large, burnt orange T Shirt, was positioned on the UT sideline while Michael Cole and Josh Mathews watched the game from the fifty. WWE HOF'er Dusty Rhodes was also positioned on the fifty as he was in Dallas celebrating an early birthday and obviously hoping that his beloved 'Horns would win. I had hoped to catch up with the Dream but that never transpired.
I was so into my diet that when we went to Del Frisco's in Dallas for dinner after the game and I ate swordfish and NOT steak at one of the best steakhouses in America.
My pal Brad Nessler, who handled the PXP for ABC of the OU-UT game, and I hooked up on Friday night and we had a super time...until we both had to tap ate in the evening. Ness is a great friend and the Mrs and I will likely be attending WM27 in Brad's hometown of Atlanta with Brad and his wife Nancy next spring.
I'm anxious to read the Paul Heyman/Brock Lesnar penned 'Next Big Thing' biography which is due out imminently (I don't know the exact title.) Brock is a very private person and it certainly shows his trust in Paul to discuss Brock's life in such through detail for the upcoming project. Lesnar was one of our best signees ever in WWE and most of the credit for signing the amazingly gifted, natural athlete has to go to Jerry Brisco who was teammates with Brock's college wrestling coach at Minnesota, J Robinson. Brock cracked the magical, seven figure earnings chart faster than any WWE superstar ever. I don't think that I have ever been around an athlete in any field of endeavor that had better overall skills than the former Golden Gopher. Lesnar has size, strength, quickness, speed, power, and amazing agility for a near 300 pounder. No WWE star before or since can match Brock Lesnar's physical gifts. With Heyman becoming such close friends with Brock Lesnar, Paul has made the all important 'emotional investment' in Brock that is required to write a great book. As I said, I'm anxious to read the story of the UFC's biggest star and a man for whom I have great respect.
Lesnar's will to be the best at what he does was always prevalent when Brock performed under the WWE banner and that same unmatched passion is still in full force today in the Octagon for UFC. Lesnar vs. Cain Vel?squez will be a huge fight for Brock's UFC Heavyweight Title on Saturday October 23 in Anaheim. Cain Vel?squez is another amazingly gifted heavyweight that has infiltrated the UFC and will be a major test to Brock as Vel?squez has a great motor, endurance, mat skills and obvious punching power. This is one fight that all MMA fans will definitely want to catch on PPV.
Before we start getting Q&A's regarding Brock ever returning to pro wrestling, I suspect that answer would be no and certainly not while Brock is actively competing in UFC. I can't see Brock ever donning tights again for a pro wrestling performance and if he did, big if BTW, it would not be until his UFC days were all over which I hope is not for a long time.
Good to see Goldust getting some 'love' in WWE these days as it appears that the 'Bizarre One' is earning a bigger role on Monday Night Raw. I have not read an advance copy of Goldust's book that comes out in December but some insiders have told me that I will be pleasantly surprised with it. Without question, Dustin Runnels has a helluva story to tell of his unique and often times controversial life and it takes a great deal of courage to tell he 'rest of the story' as the late Paul Harvey used to say on his daily radio commentaries.
I'm personally proud of Dustin and the recovery that he has made to salvage his career and for the man that he has become. I'll be reading his book for sure.
Raw from Wichita featured a hot crowd. That always helps the cause. The Cena/Nexus driven show provided a great deal of new info for the viewer to process. Now the follow up on the new info, direction, etc will be imperative to capturing the audience's attention and interest.
It's hard to believe that WWE will promote yet another PPV in a few weeks so one could assume that on WWE TV that it will be pedal to the metal from now until October 24 in Minneapolis. I'm hoping to travel to the Twin Cities for 'Bragging Rights' to lend a hand prior to the event and then watch the show from the locker room area. I plan on flying to Minneapolis Sunday morning after watching OU play at Columbia, Missouri the day before.
Funny story...one year I was standing on the OU sideline in Columbia watching the Sooners play Mizzou when this huge shadow loomed large behind me. I turned around and it was of all people, Snitsky. Gene Snitsky played football at Mizzou in the O-Line and was able to take in his alma mater's game that day.
I've updated the Q&A section of the site so I invite you to check out the new material before you leave.

Saw on Twitter where Joey Styles compared Randy Orton's RKO to Steve Austin's Stone Cold Stunner. Interesting analogy of which I don't totally disagree with and hope that Randy's finisher brings him as much fame and fortune as did Austin's. Time will tell. I'm a big Randy Orton fan for the record and love Randy's competitive nature. If RKO stays hungry and possesses the burning desire to be the best in the biz, he very well might accomplish every goal that he establishes for himself. Very talented, natural performer.
Read on line where Jerry Lawler is apparently getting a new broadcast partner for WWE Superstars that airs on WGN America on Thursday nights and then is repeated through the week/weekend. Not sure of the fellow's name to be honest with you or if it is permanent or not.
The King will be at the NYC Comic Con this Friday-Saturday-Sunday at the Javits Center making an appearance and selling his artwork and some sketches that he will draw on site. If you are in the New York City area this weekend drop by and say hello to Jerry.
Rarely does a day go by when a fan doesn't ask me about the King in some shape, form or fashion.
Our on line store is open and we are ready to ship you FREE in the USA some great tasting products and gift ideas with autographed swag and more. Your business is what keeps this site rolling along and growing.
Thanks for stopping by and for all the positive thoughts.
