Romero Contreras, the self-proclaimed Franchise of TPW, captured the TPW title for the second time Friday, July 29 by winning a gauntlet match against 3 other men.
Romero came to ring at commissioner Rocco Valentino?s request and was going to be awarded the TPW title due to former champion Sonny C?s failure to appear. Romero took the microphone, berated Sonny C and Kenny Campbell for leaving TPW at seperate times while holding this title and refused to accept it unless he was given a match. TPW competitors Devil Man, Mitch Carter and Sudden Impact came to the ring to answer the challenge and Rocco made a gauntlet match for the title. Romero then defeated all 3 in a row to become the second man to be a 2-time TPW Champion.
When asked about his title victory, Romero stated that "I?m glad the TPW title is back with the Franchise of the company, and now I start a long title reign where I?m going to make this belt mean something again"
