8-31-06 NWA-TNA Impact
A. J. Styles & Christopher Daniels appear on the video screen, speaking to NWA World Tag Team Champions LAX. They say that they were pushed into the Tag Team Title match last week, but now they have exercised their rematch clause. At No Surrender PPV for the 1st time ever, there will be an NWA World Tag Team Title Match competed under Ultimate X Rules.
NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett comes out for the "Public Execution". He says certain governments gather crowds to publicly execute criminals. There are 2 reasons for this: 1. The entertainment of a public execution and 2. to set an example of all the people attending. He says capital punishment is still alive and well on Planet Jarrett. He will publicly execute the career of Sting. He could use the firing squad. He could use the noose. But instead, he says the pen is mightier than the sword. By publicly signing the contract, he's sealed Sting's fate at Bound For Glory PPV. When he leaves Sting in a pool of his own blood, Sting's carreer will be over. The match will be Jarrett's NWA World Title vs. Sting's career. Jim Cornette calls into the show and demands to be piped into the ring. He says he's sick of Jarrett always weaseling out of anything that goes wrong. Next week, Cornette will put Jarrett on trial. Jarrett has said for months that he would take a lie detector test to prove that he had nothing to do with the Earl Hebner situation and the end of the King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary PPV. Next week, he'll get a chance to take that polygraph. If he passes, he'll get time off like Sting has to prepare for the match. But if he fails any part of the exam, Corbette will give the fans the opportunity to get revenge personally. Jarrett looks worried as the show closes.
