Former WWF Intercontinental Champion The Honky Tonk Man will be appearing July 15 in Sapulpa for Steel Rage Pro Wrestling. This will mark the 2nd appearance of the Honky Tonk Man this year. His last appearance was on January 15 in Muskogee for Southern Championship Wrestling, where he defeated Demolition Ax.
Honky Tonk Man was a semi-regular performer for New Mid-South in Oklahoma City in the late 1990s and appeared in Tulsa June 3, 2000, on an OPW/SSoW show where he was defeated by Jake Roberts.
Honky Tonk is the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in WWF history, defeating Ricky Steamboat for the title on June 2, 1987 and holding it for over a year before being defeated by the Ultimate Warrior on August 29, 1988 at the first Summerslam Pay per View.
No official opponent for Honky Tonk Man has been announced.
