Jack Brisco Dies: WWE Hall Of Famer And NWA Champ
Posted: Feb 2nd 2010 By: mikeiles
Former NWA world champion Jack Brisco has died at the age of 68. According to reports, Brisco died due to the failure and complications of open heart surgery.
Once one of the top pro-wrestling stars in 1970s, Brisco is legendary for his overall dominating sports career. Brisco won the NWA world title because he was known for his renowned ability to take down anyone in the ring with him.
He was a singles champion who lost the title few times, and even teamed up with his brother, Gerald "Jerry" Brisco for tag team matches. It was Brisco and his brother who gained the majority interest in the Georgia Championship Wrestling league and then sold it to Vince McMahon. This event, in turn, led to the WWF starting and then the WWE as we know it today.
Jack Brisco retired at 43 from Wrestling. The Briscos were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008. It's sad to see such a great and legendary wrestler die.
