AACW Title belt stolen! Glen Steel vows revenge
Posted: Aug 10th 2006 By: CMBurnham
Newly crowned AACW Champion Glen Steel found out Saturday that the evil foreign influence of Prince al-Farat was still around in the persona of his fellow Disciple of Allah, Kareem Sadat.
Steel was called out the to the ring by temporary AACW Commissioner Otis for an interview. He thanked the fans for sticking by him and promised to give 110% as long as they stayed with him. He said he joined the Marine Corps to learn honour and committment and he intends to apply those qualities to his matches. As he was about to leave the ring, Kareem Sadat ran in and stole the AACW Title belt, then left the building through a back entrance. Steel was shocked and tried to get Sadat back in the ring by promising him a title shot, but Sadat refused to make a reappearance. Steel then left to try and find Sadat, but came back with nothing. At this point, AACW ring announcer Jesse Storm stepped in. He told Otis that Sadat wouldn't return to the ring as long as Steel was there, so perhaps Otis should send out another opponent to goad Sadat back to the ring and allow Steel to reclaim the belt. Otis did this, calling out AACW Luchadore El Morro. Otis then announced that, if Sadat didn't return with the belt, he would be fined and suspended. This almost occurred, as Sadat didn't make it to the ring until the count of 9, but the match then occurred. However, for unknown reasons, Steel never returned to the ring to reclaim his belt. After several minutes of back-and-forth action, the wrestlers spilled outside. Steel's fellow House of Strange member Overdose came down, with chain in hand, and hit Sadat in the head to end the match. Moro was declared the winner via DQ (yet another odd happening), but Sadat grabbed the belt and escaped without giving it back to its righful owner.
The bad blood between Steel and Sadat in AACW dates back to the time when Al Farat was fending off Steel's challenges for the AACW Title. Steel repeatedly defeated Farat in all sorts of matches, including a Hardcore Match and a Kendo Stick Lumberjack Tag Team match, where Steel teamed with AACW TV Champion Prophet and defeated al-Farat and Mustafa Sharmoot. Steel also holds a victory over Sadat at the very first AACW show on April 14. Farat is no longer allowed to compete in AACW, but both Steel & Sadat compete in MSWA, where Farat turned up most recently, so it would not be unexpected to see this feud boil over to there as well.
At this point, no word has been received regarding the return of the AACW belt to Steel. But Steel is slated to defend the title against Sadat at the next AACW show. And since Steel is a member of the House of Strange, it would not be hard to believe that AACW Commissioner Damien Strange has a plan in mind to take some revenge out against Kareem Sadat.
