Reichten Wages War On New SWCW Champion

2009 has seen many newcomers enter the Oklahoma ranks. One of the more physically impressive individuals is Gustav Reichten, who usually competes simply under the name "Wage".

Wage entered NWA-OK and came into conflict with Thug Nasty, engaging in a couple of brutal brawls that went all over the Cherokee Community Centre in Ada. He's also made inroads into IZW, where he's made his presence known, even though his win-loss ration is not outstanding.

When Reichten first appeared in SWCW, he was announced simply as "Reichten" and demolished former SWCW Luchadore Champion Ozzy Hendrix, separating his shoulder during the match and putting Hendrix on the disabled list. Two weeks later, Reichten (this competing under his full name) obliterated another Oklahoma newcomer, Bobby Star. Star is no stranger to having larger men as his opponent, but was not able to physically match the power of the German demolition machine.

Last Sunday, Reichten made his way to the ring and physically assaulted SWCW ring announcer Milton Winkelman, yelling in his face and demanding that he be addressed simply as "Wage". While his previous two opponents were fairly easy pushovers, this week would be a challenge as he faced Moonshine. No longer predetermined to outclass the combatant physically, Wage fought a strength-vs.-strength match, but was matched for every move by the Hardcore Hillbilly. Wage was able to muscle Moonshine up for an aeroplane spin, but while executing the move, bumped into referee Rob Justice, sending him down. This gave Wage an excuse to go to his corner and grab his chain, then smash it into Moonshine's head and cover him in time for the recovered referee to count the pin.

Most fans thought this was just another rung up the ladder for Wage, but he showed he had no patience to earn people's attention. He demanded it later that night. During the long awaited SWCW Title match between challenger 3rd Rail and champion Kevin Morgan, Morgan connected with a devastating spear to "The Monster's" midsection. This propelled Rail into Rob Justice, catapulting him out of the ring. Rail went over to tend to Justice and try to bring him back in. While that was happening, Wage ran down to ringside and attacked Kevin Morgan. He tied his ever-present chain around Morgan's arm, then dragged it over the top rope and yanked it down, causing severe injury to Morgan's bicep. Rail was unaware any of this had happened and Wage exited the ring before Rail turned around. Confused by seeing his opponent laying on the ground, Rail still wanted to recapture the SWCW Title he had fought so hard to get. He locked in the Cobra Clutch and Morgan passed out from the pain and pressure. For the 4th time, 3rd Rail had won the SWCW Title and he took the belt, cackled manically and stood proud in the ring. But he also seemed confused, especially when Wage entered the ring. Seeing acting commissioner Shawn McKaiegg at ringside, Rail turned to inquire what was going on and Wage took that opportunity to attack the new champion from behind. Again, the chain came into play as Rail was pummeled repeatedly with it. After completing this blitzkrieg of an attack, Wage grabbed the championship belt, stood over a prone Rail and held it high before dropping it on the champion's mid-section and leaving the ring.

Rail recovered and was embarassed. And, as any fan who knows Rail understands, when he gets embarassed, he gets very angry. Rail was irate, grabbing Shawnn McKaiegg on the way out and demanding to know what had happened. The answer was obvious to all observers: Wage is tired of waiting. He wants championship gold. He wants it now. And he will do whatever is necessary to get that. Powerful, confident and ruthless, Wage now sits back to wait for the fruits of his plan to bring resuults in the new year.
