Caballero's Antics Provoke Near Riot
Posted: Sep 24th 2009 By: CMBurnham
At the last ComPro show, Big Stevie Caballero had participated in a joke on ComPro Tag Team Champions Team SuperBad. This time, the joke was on him. At least, that's how it seemed at first. When the night was finished, ComPro owner Mike Two might have been wishing he could just sell the company and escape from the near riot involving all the top stars in the federation.
Mike Two told the crowd that he had received word that Caballero was upset about the announced Draven Cross/Shane Morbid match for the ComPro title at the next Night of Champions and had decided to take matters into his own hands. So Caballero had challenged Morbid to a match. Caballero, Cross and MWA Tag Team Champions Texas, Inc. all arrived and the scrawny manager was brimming with confidence as he proclaimed that he had the best tag team in the state and the biggest wrestler in ComPro, so he had nothing to worry about in this match. Mike Two then through a bit of a spanner in the works as he ordered Tim Rockwell, Bernard Funk and Draven Cross out of the arena for the match. He also made it clear that if they didn't stay away until the end of the main event, Texas, Inc. would lose their title shot against El Super Colibri and MWA MAX-Division Champion Justin Lee and Cross would be stripped of the ComPro Title. Stevie was visably worried at this decision and headed back with his charges to plan strategy.
Caballero would need more than just strategy and seemed to go with the idea of confusing his opponent into submission. When Jamie announced the manager, he emerged dressed in wollen long underwear, covered with large purple gym shorts that he pulled up as high as they would go and fresh Converse sneakers. It was a sight that Andy Kaufman would have been jealous of. Caballero quickly jogged around the ring and proceded to warm up at length, doing deep knee bends and stretches in the corner as Shane Morbid was announced. The ComPro crowd has a bloodthirsty nature when it comes to Morbid and it didn't seem that Caballero was going to be spared from this as a "Smoke his lips" chant quickly began to permeate the ring area.
Caballero knew he could not match Morbid in power or skill. Although he was a former SRPW Hardcore Champion, that was more of a fluke and proved no ability in the ring. Without Texas, Inc. or Draven Cross to back him up, Caballero seemed like the crippled guppy, waiting as the shark circled. He refused to lock up with Shane, instead weaving his body in the ropes and forcing the referee to back his opponent up. Eventually, Shane tired of this and decided to give Caballero what he called "a freebie". Morbid extended his arm and Stevie executed a capable wristlock, which he then turned into a hammerlock. Very proud of his accomplishment, the upper hand was rapidly reversed and Stevie was forced into a corner. At this point, a resounding chop echoed through the building as Morbid lanced into Stevie's chest. Although his eyes were invisible due to the sunglasses he always has on, imagination made his expression very clear. Stevie stumbled out of the corner, clutching his chest. He dropped to his knees in the middle of the ring...
.,.and tapped out.
That's right. All it took was one chop to force Stevie to concede the match. Shane had acquired a bit of justice for himself in his upcoming title shot. But then, the wileyness of Caballero came through as Texas, Inc. and Draven Cross hit the ring. Weren't they banned from the building? Yes, but only until the end of the main event. And that ended when Caballero tapped out. At that point, there was nothing Mike Two could legally do to prevent the 3-on-1 attack. So Mike made sure the sides were even and brought Team SuperBad to help "Mr. Endurance". Then, in small groups, the rest of the locker room emptied and poured into the ring. Personal issues, grudges and points to prove all flowed together as a miniature battle royal broke out and Mike Two had to use every commanding syllable in his possession to try and restore order. Even after sending certain parties to the back, things still took a while to calm down, but Mike Two finally reigned in the talent and reannounced the upcoming Night of Champions.
So, after complete chaos in the ring, everyone had a reason to loook forward to October 10. Morbid believes he has a sure chance of winning the belt. Texas, Inc. want to win their 3rd tag team title this year. Draven Cross and Team SuperBad both want to show that they are the most dominating champions in state today. Draven's held his belt for 10 months and TSB are in their second reign as champions. With ComPro returning to weekly shows as of October 10, the demands on the champions (and the roster in general) will certainly be up. Caballero believes his men are destined to be in charge at that time. It will take some special competitors to prove him wrong.
