Behind This Dual Champion Lies A Good Woman

She's accompanied her man to the ring for over a year, standing the corner and calmly but consistently encouraging him to the SWCW Cruiserweight championship three times.

She's been the pawn of a feud between her man and Rage Logan and ended up unwillingly having to be Rage's valet for a period of time.

But until this past Sunday, she'd never been in the ring as an active competitor.

Lady Starwind's first match didn't see her get involved much, but she made the killing blow, bringing SWCW Cruiserweight & ComPro Oklahoma X Division Champion Sage a victory over the Nemesis pairing of Rage Logan & the newly rejoined Crisstopher Crow.

Starwind was expecting simply to stand at ringside as usual when Sage and SWCW Luchadore Champion Se7en faced off against the dastardly pair. And when he was called out by SWCW ring announcer Milton Winkelman, it was only to mention that his 24th birthday was coming up on Tuesday. The crowd, at Milton's encouragement, sang Happy Birthday to him, but before they could finish, Nemesis strode to the ring. Logan brought a chair with him which appeared to have some fresh blood on it and took credit for ambushing Se7en backstage, eliminating him from the match. He announced that it would not be a handicap match since Sage's partner was in no condition to wrestle.

Sage wasn't too taken aback by that and prepared for the possibility, but when the time for the match arrived, there was another change. Logan came out and said he felt sorry for Sage, so he allowed him to pick Lady Starwind as his partner. Essentially, this still meant that Sage was working in a handicap environment as there was no way Starwind could physically match either of the Nemesis members. But Sage agreed and the match was on. Starwind took her position on the outside and even the other Nemesis members, Damien Morte & Xavior, left ringside for most of the match.

Nemesis' strategy worked very well as the quickly isolated Sage and worked him over two-on-one. On several occasions, it appeared Sage had one of his opponents down, but when he looked to make the tag to Starwind, it was clear in his eyes that he had no desire to put her in against his hooligan opponents. And so he kept going, hoping somehow that his endurance would outlast both of theirs and he could somehow get a quick win.

Eventually, Nemesis reappeared at ringside, adding even more of a distraction to the match. But that distraction proved to be a benefit as, while referee Jeff Kiger was dealing with them, Starwind was able to grab the chair that Logan had brought to ringside and his Logan straight across the head with it. Even though she never tagged in, Starwind connected with the most important move of the match as Logan was unconscious and Sage covered him for the win.

Sage can certainly count on Nemesis continuing to chase him for his title. And Starwind has not yet made an appearance in ComPro, but the contenders are lining up for the Oklahoma X Division Title as well. With so many managers in ComPro, perhaps Sage will need some backup to maintain his status as a dual champion.
