After 3+ years, is SRPW done for?

SRPW fans may have to find something else to do with their Friday evenings if things go the way of P.I.N.K. Nation.

SRPW X Division Champion and Commissioner Ray Martinez has been on a tear since taking charge approximately 1 year ago. At first, it appeared that Mr. Martinez was going to do the same upstanding job that he had done while serving as commissioner of TPW. He actively fought against the activities of Sonny C & Jack Dalton. He suspended Brandon Bishop and Matt Garza for their shenanigans. But all that changed earlier this year, when Mr. Martinez aligned himself with the Dalton/Legacy Gang and, after eliminating Sonny C and replacing him with Paul Linam, proclaimed themselves the P.I.N.K. Nation.

Mr. Martinez took advantage of his position and the frequent absences of SRPW owner Sarah Harmon. The longer she was gone, the more he took control. He allowed the SRPW Boys & Girls Club Title to change hands 4 times in 1 night as one member of the Dalton/Legacy Gang pinned another. He then stood by while they burned the title belt behind the arena. Anyone who has crossed swords with him has felt his wrath, swift and sure. After Jessi Jersey stepped down from ring announcing to challenge Lily McKenzie for the SRPW Women's Title, Mr. Martinez rehired former ring announcer Mike Iles, only fire him 2 weeks later. Only two weeks ago, he fired AACW Mid-American Light Heavyweight Champion Dexter Hardaway for laying hands on him during an X-Division Title match. And this week, he fired both Bernard Funk (for interfering with P.I.N.K. Nation during the Bobby Burns/Terry Montana SRPW Title match) and SRPW Ring Announcer Chance Ryan.

But now, P.I.N.K. Nation faces it's most difficult task. After Mr. Martinez declared the main event of the last SRPW show, which involved Jack Dalton, SRPW Tag Team Champion Beau Dalton and Paul Linam against Luc Lapointe, Cpl. James Warbois & IZW Tag Team Champion Mitch Carter, as "never happening", Lapointe grabbed the microphone and declared that he had had enough. Dexter Hardaway, who had sneaked into the arena to attack Martinez, joined the other wrestlers in the ring and SRPW Champion Bobby Burns came out to join them as well. As P.I.N.K. Nation stood outside the ring, Lapointe proposed that they should finish this issue between them. Lapointe called for a 5-on-5 elimination match inside a steel cage. If Team SRPW won, P.I.N.K. Nation would have to leave SRPW forever. Martinez countered, saying that if P.I.N.K. Nation won, they would take complete control of SRPW and shut it down forever. Both sides agreed to this and the match has been set.

The question now at hand is, who exactly is on SRPW's team? Cpl. James Warbois has challenged Tommy Smash to a 1-on-1 match for the next show, scheduled for August 4, and may not be in condition to participate in the main event. And Dexter Hardaway remains officially fired. Bobby Burns and Mitch Carter certainly seem prepared to step up to the task. But who will join them? Will it be someone currently on roster? Or will a former SRPW star who hasn't been seen for a long time come back for this all-important match?

Oklafan will bring you more details as they break regarding this event.
