Surprises Abound As Team SuperBad Regain Tag Team Titles

The question was on everyone's mind: Which title was MWA MAX-Division and TAP Adrenaline Champion El Super Colibri going to challenge for?
Colibri won a 10-man Gauntlet match at Night of Champions XV, defeating Jesus Rodriguez, Das Karnage & MWA & TAP Tag Team Champion Tim Rockwell in the finals. By winning this match, Colibri won a contract that guaranteed him a shot at any ComPro Title he wanted. The only catch was that he had to announce his intention to cash in the contract one week before he did so. No surprises or sneak attacks.
That announcement was made at the beginning of last week and the ComPro message board was abuzz with a poll asking which title it seemed like he would challenge for. He'd held the ComPro Tag Team & Oklahoma X Division Titles before and had faced the challenge of ComPro Champion Draven Cross last year before Draven won the belt. But most voters believed that he would be the first major threat to ComPro Showtime Champion The Canadian Red Devil.
At the beginning of the show Saturday, ComPro owner Mike Two came to the ring and called out Colibri to get the announcement of which title he planned to challenge for. Colibri arrived with his contract and took the microphone. Mike Two had previously stated that Colibri had told him he had no interest in challenging for the Heavyweight or Showtime Titles. That left the two titles in the control of the Popped Collar Posse. Colibri said that he intended to challenge for the title that had lost a lot of prestige over the past few months, then mumbled something into the mic and left, as Mike Two stared bewildered. The confusion would remain until the main event.
Boss Campbell led all 3 champions in his stable to the ring, but Colibri came alone. ComPro Tag Team Champions Crazy Beautiful exited to the outside and it appeared that Colibri would make a bid for the X Division Title held by Goldeneye. But just as they were about to lock up, Colibri pulled away and called for the mic. Once again, he requested that Mike Two come out and when that happened, Colibri shocked everyone by saying that he wanted a tag team title shot. Boss Campbell was irate, protesting to Mike Two that they weren't ready, then turning to Goldeneye and saying that no one would team with Colibri because "you can't trust a guy in a mask!" At that point, familiar strains of a Kanye West song came thorough the speakers and "The Broken Arrow Bad Boy" Justin Lee made his return to ComPro.
Lee & Colibri had never been pinned for the tag team titles when they lost them 2 months prior. Campbell had injured Lee's knee, putting him out of action for the rest of the Triple Threat Match and Crazy Beautiful pinned one of the Saints of Twilight to win the belts. So this marked the first 2-on-2 meeting of the two teams and the reunited Team SuperBad wasted no time in getting to the action. The unprepared champions, who had spent most of their reign fighting off the challenge of Dawn of Extreme, found themselves on the defensive for most of the match. After Colibri hit Brett Taylor with the Defamation of Character, Lee connected with a Moonsault and Team SuperBad found themselves as only the second team to ever be 2-time ComPro Tag Team Champions.
In what should be no surprise to anyone, Boss Campbell entered the ring to protest the outcome, but was met by a superkick from Justin as payback for all the humiliation he had put Justin through over the past couple of months. Justin then took the mic and thanked the fans, saying that he thought he had nothing left, but now there was a new fire lit under him. Team SuperBad prepared to soak in the cheers and congratulations of the fans one last time, but that was short-lived as MWA Tag Team Champions Texas, Inc. hit the ring and attacked the new ComPro Tag Team Champions. Lee was given a spike piledriver and was buried under the Texas flag, then Colibri was rendered inert. After the carnage had died down, Tim Rockwell took the mic and announced that he and Bernard Funk had full intention of taking the tag team titles from them and once again being Triple Crown Tag Team Champions.
By winning the tag team titles, Colibri becomes the first person Triple Crown Champion this year, holding three titles in three different federations simultaneously. But the challengers for one of those titles are clearly apparent. Justin Lee suffered minor neck damage 3 years ago when he received a spike piledriver from Texas, Inc. in TPW and it's unclear if this attack has caused any severe aggravation of that old injury. Team SuperBad must be at their best to face the challenge of the wily Texans and they can expect no quarter given in the upcoming war for tag team supremacy.
