The Nemesis Infection is Spreading?

The Nemesis Infection is Spreading?

Posted: Jul 10th 2009 By: mikeiles

After Damien Morte helped Rage Logan gain the SWCW Sure Shot contract it seemed certain that the devious duo would cash it in at the July 28th show. Most likely at an opportune time after the Good Ol' Boys had been worn down by their scheduled title defense. But as they were addressing the crowd, that all changed.

As Logan was reminding the crowd how ?greatness? was spelled, Damon Windsor hit the ring with a purpose. Irate about being cheated out of the Sure Shot contract, he informed Nemesis that he had done them a favor. He brought out Miss Sheila to confirm that Windsor had secured Nemesis a ?Double-or Nothing? tag team title shot. The stipulation being that if Nemesis won they would claim the tag titles and keep the Sure Shot Contract but if they lost they would not only not get the titles but that Windsor would receive the Sure Shot he felt he rightly deserved.

Though Nemesis had much more tag experience than Good Ol? Boys, this was their first match back as a tag team since their over six month breakup. But what the Good Ol? Boys lack in experience they made up for in size and power, tossing around their much smaller challengers. But Nemesis had more than a few tricks up their sleeve.

After isolating Bud Barnes outside the ring, Morte targeted Barnes? shoulder. After a missed clothesline connected with the ringpost and some added shots by Rage Logan on the outside, Nemesis was well in control of the barnyard behemoth. They continued to pound away at the injured shoulder until Barnes was unable to even lift himself off the mat. In a desperate last effort Barnes was able to make the tag into the ?Hillbilly Hercules?, Moonshine.

Moonshine came in on a warpath but in the midst of his rampage splashed referee Rob Justice, knocking him out. Logan and Morte looked to have evil intentions at this point. As the ref went down, Morte grabbed an alcohol bottle from under the ring, he doused a rag with the liquid and threw it to Logan who looked to knock out Moonshine with it.

Before he could, however, Damon Windsor hit the ring and took out Logan but was incapacitated by Morte and was unable to stop Nemesis from delivering a vicious second-rope chair-shot to Mooshine. Windsor recovered and cleared Nemesis from the ring and helped Moonshine to his feet. Only to drive him back down with an Ace Crusher. Windsor then revived the referee as Nemesis made the cover and became the new SWCW Tag Team Champions.

Still the question remained: Why would Windsor cost himself the Sure Shot Contract? The answer to that would come later in the night when Logan would present Windsor with the Sure Shot Contract as well as membership into Nemesis.

Nemesis has always been a force to be reckoned with, but their lack of direction was ultimately their original downfall, now with the ?Mastermind of The Mat? in their ranks, they may have the focus to become the most elite force in Oklahoma today.
