Second Verse, Same As The First: BLK-OUT Reigns Supreme In TLC II

Last Christmas, BLK-OUT faced Impact, Inc. in one of the most amazing matches ever held in IZW.

Six months later, they repeated the situation.

After defeating Impact, Inc. at "Chaotic Christmas", BLK-OUT reigned as IZW Tag Team Champions for 2 months, but were unable to overcome the constant assault of Johnny Z & Bernie D, combined with the legal chicanery of IZW commissioner Steve O, and lost the belts back. For about 2 1/2 months, BLK-OUT pursued the champions, intent on regaining their titles and it appeared they had done so on May 9. But the following week, Johnny Z presented video evidence that the title change had occurred because one of the title belts had been used as a foreign object. This made Impact, Inc. a record 7-time IZW Tag Team Champions and once again put Montego Seeka and GPCW Witchita Mountains Champion Jermaine Johnson in the challenger's seat.

Not content with taking the belts away, Impact, Inc. wanted to rid IZW of BLK-OUT all together and proposed once again taking the belts into a TLC match. But this time, BLK-OUT would have to put something up as well: their tag team. If BLK-OUT didn't win the titles, they would have to dissolve their team in IZW forever.

And so the stage was set. But before that epic collision, both BLK-OUT members faced individual competition the night before in GPCW. Tyson Jaymes made his return to GPCW and said that he was issuing his final "Tyson Challenge" in Oklahoma. Jermaine Johnson responded and the match pitting the original members of BLK-OUT against each other was on. Tyson even waived off an offer to put the Witchita Mountains Title on the line. He didn't want the belt. He just wanted to prove that he was the better wrestler. The match was fairly fought until Li'l Joe came to ringside and, while referee Matt Garza was dealing with Jaymes, dropped Johnson across the top rope, allowing Tyson to pick up the win. Referee Donny Brooks then came from the back and told Garza what happened, prompting Garza to reverse the decision, but by that point, Joe had entered the ring and kicked Johnson out. Montego Seeka then appeared and, after a brief consultation with Johnson, entered the ring and took matters straight to Joe. An impromptu match was announced by Jesse Storm and the two athletes laid into each other. Joe seemed to be catching the upper hand until Johnson reappeared at ringside. He came up to argue with Joe, although he never touched him, and that was enough to allow Seeka to recover, hit Joe with a flying boot and get the win.

With two singles wins under their belts, BLK-OUT walked into the Impact Arena feeling confident. But singles wrestling is a whole lot different from tag team wrestling and when the added qualities of tables, ladders and chairs are taken into account, it was possible that neither team would walk out under their own power, no matter who won.

As with the TLC match at Chaotic Christmas, this match was full of action and impossible to describe in detail, but the following are just a few of the highlights:

-Impact, Inc. had Montego Seeka outside and were preparing to execute a double powerbomb to Montego on the floor. Jermaine was on the ladder and close to grabbing the belts, but sacrficed winning the match so he could save his partner by hitting Impact, Inc. with a somersault plancha.

-Seeka was lain prone on a ladder bridging the ring and the barricade. Johnny Z charged Jermaine in the ring, but Jermaine backdropped Johnny over the top rope and through the ladder, which Montego had moved off of.

-Bernie D delivered a thunderous powerslam to Jermaine off one of the ladders. He later hit a Kryptonite Krunch on Montego from a table balanced on a turnbuckle and held in place underneath by Johnny.

-In perhaps the most spectacular moment of the match, Johnny climbed the ladder and grabbed onto the belts, but Jermaine pushed the ladder out from underneath him, forcing Johnny to hold onto the belts to keep from falling. Jermaine them pulled Johnny down into a powerbomb from that position.

Like the match at Chaotic Christmas, the key to the end of this TLC match lay in a large stack of tables outside the ring. Johnny Z & Jermaine were each partway up a ladder, on opposite sides. Montego & Bernie D were battling in the ring. Bernie was shoved by Montego into the ladder, which propelled Johnny and Jermaine over the top rope and through 4 tables stacked near the entrance ramp. Both men were essentially rendered unconscious for the remainder of the match. And there wasn't much of a "remainder" as Montego and Bernie climbed opposite sides of another ladder in the ring and Montego was able to shove Bernie off and through a table behind him, then climb all the way to the top and grab the belts for the win.

The sheer destruction in and around the ring showed the evidence of the match, but the fans left thrilled to have seen yet another amazing performance from both teams. BLK-OUT may not get much chance to rest up and recover from this match as IZW is still running weekly (except for July 4). Beaten, bruised and battered, the champions will probably be placed in a bad situation by IZW commissioner (and Impact, Inc. associate) Steve O next week. But as long as the fans continue to chant "We Got This!", they will do everything they can to overcome the odds and remain fighting champions.
