Gwar Enter Pro Wrestling

Cosmic heavy metal overlords Gwar are getting into professional wrestling.

Lead singer Oderus Urungus has agreed to fight Tracy Smothers of IWA East Coast Wrestling in a "Loser Leaves Earth" match, that will happen June 24 at Charleston, W. Va.'s Schoenbaum Amphitheater.

"I have no idea how I got roped into this one," says Urungus. "I guess someone is making money off it. No matter! I will be there, with bells on, and this Tracy Smothers so-and-so is going to find out just what it's like to go toe-to toe with an intergalactic god! I just hope he shaves his armpits first."

Two days earlier, Urungus will make his second appearance on Fox News' Red Eye program, Fucked Up member Damian "Pink Eyes" Abraham's favourite show.

"My first time on the show was a great success," says the frontman. "Millions of emails came in, and even though I wrote the great majority of them, they still asked me back! The fools! I am hoping to use my status as an intergalactic celebrity (and my ability to travel the cosmos) to turn a revealing light on some of our universe's more unsavory secrets."

The masquerading metalheads are scheduled to release their eleventh album, Lust In Space, on August 18.

You can see all five members of GWAR ? Oderus Urungus, Balsac The Jaws Of Death, Jizmak Da Gusha, Beefcake The Mighty, and Flattus Maximus ? in Zaandam, Netherlands at De Kade July 31, and in Wacken, Germany at Wacken Open Air Festival August 1. Just stay away from the stage if you're not wild about getting soaked by faux-jizz.
