Rodriguez & Devil To "Table" Their Issue May 9
Posted: May 9th 2009 By: CMBurnham
The issue between the Jesus Rodriguez and TAP Champion The Canadian Red Devil will be settled this Saturday in a Tables Match between the two competitors after weeks of frustrating non-decisions.
The began on April 11 in a match between the Devil and Rodriguez's partner, Dutch Hagen. During their match, Hagen was temporarily blinded by the Devil and ended up scoopslamming his own manager, Ray Martinez. Dutch then unknowingly pinned Martinez and the Devil counted 3. When Hagen realised his mistake, the was enraged and whipped the Devil into the corner, then charged in after him. But the Devil dropped down and elevated Hagen over the top rope and through the ringside table that ComPro ring announcer Jamie was sitting at. Hagen was out of action for two weeks as a result of injuries sustained in that event and Rodriguez vowed revenge.
The next week, after the Devil had defeated Das Karnage and ComPro Oklahoma X Division Champion Goldeneye in a Triple Threat Match, Rodriguez & Martinez again attacked the masked Canadian. They brought a table with them and set it up in the ring, promising to put the Devil through it, but CRD was able to evade this dastardly move and escape to safety. One week later, a 1-on-1 match between the two was signed and Rodriguez was continually frustrated by the his inability to defeat the Devil. This may have had something to do with Martinez's absence at ringside. Eventually, the situation got to be too much for him and Rodriguez took a countout loss, but still reminded the Devil that he intended to get revenge.
Last week, another 1-on-1 match was signed and it got out of control almost as soon as it started. Neither men seemed willing to listen to referee John the Encourager, but it was Rodriguez who got physical with him first and earned himself a DQ. The match was over, but the fight was still on as both men fought across the ring and then to the outside onto the ring announcer's table. The Devil had Rodriguez firmly postitioned for the face plant, but the sneaky Mexican escaped it and ran to the back, frightened of suffering injuries similar to his partner. The Devil was infuriated with this result and threw a chair through the curtain at the ring entrance, but did nothing further to finish the matter.
This Saturday, it all ends. So far, the Devil has held the upper hand. But things might be different at Night of Champions XIV. Ray Martinez is expected to be back at ringside with Jesus. And Dutch Hagen returned to action in Wagoner on April 26. In a match where there are No DQs, can the Devil expect to successfully fight a 3-on-1 situation? And is the Devil suffering any lingering effects from the attack by Maniacal Mike last Sunday? Mike drove a screwdriver into the Devil's head in their match. Is this all too much for the Devil to overcome? Or can he bring this feud to a close with a shatter of lumber in the ring? Come to Night of Champions XIV on May 9 to find out!
