Belts And Brutality Keep MSWA Commish Busy

No one told MSWA commissioner Outlaw that his job was going to be an easy one. Since taking the reigns in Midwest City, he's been busy handing out fines and trying to bring some law and order to the chaos that threatens to run rampant every other Sunday afternoon. This past Sunday was particularly trying, since it seemed like everyone had WrestleMania fever and wanted to prove a point about their superiority.

One of the problems that Outlaw faced was the repeated use of title belts as weapons. MSWA Oklahoma Champion Bad Boy came out early in the show and addressed the crowd. He said he's been champion a long time (10 months, as a matter of FACT) and defends week after week because he has Oklahoma blood in his veins. He was then interrupted by Maniacal Mike. Mike, who has been carving a niche for himself in SWCW in the hardcore division, has not found quite the same success in MSWA, but saw an opportunity to make a new reputation. Once looked at as simply "that guy who impersonates the Undertaker", Mike now wants to be known as "the guy who took the Oklahoma Title from Bad Boy" and he challenged the MSWA owner to a match. The match was pretty simple and Bad Boy controlled most of the action, ultimately getting the pinfall and keeping the belt. And this infuriated Mike, who grabbed the Oklahoma Title belt while Bad Boy was saluting the crowd and layed it into the back of Bad Boy's head, knocking him loopy and sending a message that he would go to whatever extremes were necessary to prove himself.

3 matches later, another title belt was brought into play as MSWA Mid-South Champion Dane Griffin faced off against Montego Seeka. These two combatants know each other quite well, having started at approximately the same time. They've been across the ring from each other a lot all across the southern portion of the state, but Dane has usually come out victorious due to the presence of his fellow tag team champion partners Seth Allen and Max McGuirk. Neither of those men were present this week and the effect on Dane was fairly obvious as he was unable to score the win. With Montego celebrating, Dane saw a chance for some revenge and grabbed the belt, impacting it on the back of Montego's skull and leaving him unable to return to the locker room under his own power.

As if those actions weren't enough, Outlaw also saw multiple attempts to use numbers advantages to win matches. Case in point: The New Age Syndicate were both present, but only OECW Champion Shawn Sanders was booked in a match against Jason Kirby. Kirby is at enough of a disadvantage when he steps in the ring anyway, given his size, but he's never let that stop him. But when you have to fight someone inside the ring and distractions outside the ring, eventually it has to be stopped. And that's what brought Outlaw to ringside. He informed the Sanders twins that if they wanted to both be involved in this match, that was fine with him. He'd make it a tag team match and he had a special partner for Jason Kirby. At that point, the distinctive sound of SWCW Champion 3rd Rail's music hit and given the look on the NAS' faces, it was a good thing they were wearing dark pants. Both men knew exactly what was coming for them and they actually increased the ferocity of their attack on Kirby, hoping to polish off the cruiserweight before his partner could get to ringside. That was to no avail and when Rail made the tag, all hell broke lose for the twins. After several painful high-impact moves, Scott & his brother Shawn were decimated and easy pins for the makeshift team of Kirby and Rail. And just to add a little insult to injury, after Rail & Kirby left the ring area and the NAS were trying to clear out, Outlaw informed them that they were each being fined $1000 for interference during the match. Scott Sanders grabbed the mic and said that was fine and it would be paid before they left, but it was plain to see that this financial hit took more of a toll than he was willing to let on.

Then, in the main event, Tyson Jaymes faced off against Dexter Hardaway. Hardaway came to the ring with his wife Talon while Jaymes was accompanied by The Midnite Rider. Rider was acting very oddly during the match, making borderline-obscene gestures and dancing like a fool at ringside, but the distraction certainly helped Jaymes. Eventually, Rider decided to simply jump in the match and cause his associate to be DQed. But that wasn't good enough for Outlaw, who once again came to ringside and announced that he was turning this match into a tag team match. This time, the partner was IZW & MSWA Mid-South Champion Aaron Neil and the team of Hardaway and Neil quickly gelled. Jaymes & Rider, however, didn't have nearly as much success together, although they had their moments. Ultimately, it was fan favourites coming out victorious and then, just for good measure, Talon entered the ring and slapped Tyson Jaymes straight across the face as payback for him chasing her around and into the ring earlier.

With action like this, Outlaw is going to have to keep on his toes. It seems like the wrestlers in MSWA are still accustomed to the :"whatever you want" policies of previous adminstrations, but the retired Oklahoma star has made it clear that won't be happening under his watch. He was fortunate this week with so many of his troublemakers absent, but in two weeks, the roster will be back to full strength and Outlaw will need to make sure he has plans in place to deal with those who would challenge his authourity.
