Rick Vyper Lands His Own Morning Show

Posted: Jun 25th 2006 By: CMBurnham

Rick Vyper makes history with American Broadcasting School and lands his first job...his own Morning Show with 92.1 KMOE and 1530 KMAM Butler Radio.

Rick will be moving to Butler, Missouri on August 1st, 2006 after a contract agreement was negotiated this week. Rick is assigned to Morning Show Host DJ, High School Sports Commentator and Advertising Account Executive. He will be working with the Kansas City Royals and the 2006 Missouri State Fair, with backstage passes to interview Carrie Underwood,
Raven Symone, Sawyer Brown, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kentucky Headhunters, James Taylor, Trace Adkins, Chris Cagle, Smashmouth, Fastball, Big & Rich, George Jones and Pam Tillis upon arrival. He will also implement the Branson Missouri Area and Kansas City Chiefs Football for commercials and game broadcast. "It's never been done before and we are very proud of him...I knew he could do it." said Mikki Taylor, American Broadcasting School Instructor.

Rick tried his hand with local Radio Stations, however at this time the market seems to be over saturated. He has opportunity in Tulsa, but it is mainly weekend jobs that wouldn't pay enough for him to make a living. Tod Tucker at 106.9 Khits told Rick "You'd be crazy not to take this job right out of School. A morning show is most DJ's dream and now you have that opportunity. I honestly don't think you'll be there 6 months before some station in Kansas City wants you."

Rick's wife Tammy will also be working for 92.1KMOE and 1530 KMAM as an Account Executive and assist with front office duties. "When we went to Butler for the interview, Rick did a 1 hour Morning Show just to see what the crowd response was, well needless to say the phone rang over 40 times in 1 hour as he gave away tickets and t-shirts. When we stopped by a local store, the 2 people in there KNEW WHO HE WAS!" said Tammy.

Rick Vyper and Family will be moving from Oklahoma to Butler Missouri on August 1st 2006. Vyper will be about 30-45 minutes from Kansas City, Missouri. The station coverage is roughly 300,000 listeners combined AM and FM station signals.
