Asylum Wrestling Gets To 100

Asylum Wrestling Gets To 100

Posted: Mar 10th 2009 By: CMBurnham

Since the inception of Asylum Championship Wrestling in 2002 upon their original stomping grounds in Lawton, Oklahoma, ACW has been responsible for some of the most memorable and controversial moments in Independent wrestling history.

Whether it was the risque content, the amazing in ring action, or just being the FUN promotion in the circuit to work and experience, ACW has remained consistent through the best of times and the worst of times.

In 2002, ACW debuted at The Asylum Concert Club in Lawton, OK. Every week they did their best to break the mold of the green misfit wrestling company by bringing the best in innovative storylines and characters. After a few months passed, ACW gained a reputation for being a fun promotion backstage and witnessed from the seats.

ACW entered it's first Golden age with it's move to wichita Falls, TX into it's new home at Grahams Central Station. Every two weeks, ACW packed in hundreds of fans and entertained them with the most edgy and controversial wrestling show within hundreds of miles. Though the budget was still low, and the talent pool was thin, names like Payton Scott, Chris Matthews, Ty Magnus, Angel Williams stepped up and raised the bar to new heights.

Once Graham's was ready to close it's doors in 2005, ACW moved across down into the ghetto. Tommy's House of Music located downtown Wichita Falls, TX was less than pleasant to attend, therefore decreasing the one rabid ACW fanbase to a small crowd of die hards, that rarely made back to back events. After Chugging along like the little engine that could at Tommy's, ACW Owner Brandon Bishop relocated himself and the promotion to brighter pastures in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Since the move to Colorado, and with the exception of a 10-month hiatus, asylum Championship Wrestling has risen to it's highest status on the Indy Circuit.

ACW far surpasses it's previous success these days, as well as the success of all of it's former circuit mates. In the year 2009 ACW is the highest rated Colorado promotion, with the largest loyal crowd, still bringing the very best complete show of any promotion around.

On Saturday April 4th, ACW will preent it's 100th event LIVE at The Phil Long Expo Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a feat that all of us associated with ACW, past and present, are extremely proud to accomplish.
On this night, ACW pioneers Big Money Chris Matthews, The Widowmaker Angel Williams, and The Irish Phenom John O'Malley will all be in atendance, and will all be inducted into the coveted ACW HALL OF RESPECT... Also on this night ACW Founder Brandon Bishop will be inducted as well, but under odd circumstances as he is currently fired from ACW by new owner Jeremy Quinn III.
Also in action will be the return of Dr. Death Steve Williams to ACW, as well as sevral other names from the recent past of Asylum Wrestling, as well as the full present roster as well.

For those of you in the Colorado region, or capable of getting to the Colorado region... This night will be historic! Make the trip! Get your tickets at www.ticketswest.com ... NOW!
